Long'en Canal Introduction
The Long'en Canal in Hsinchu City is one of Taiwan's three ancient canals. Established in 1718 by our ancestor Wang Shijie during the development of Zhuchang, it has a history of 300 years, witnessing the growth of Hsinchu City. In May 2018, the "Long'en Canal Scenic Space" was officially completed. The Hsinchu City Government utilized the ancient canal waterway and the old tree clusters along the banks to create elevated green spaces, dense forests, and park playgrounds in segments, connecting Central Park, San Min Park, and San Min Junior High School in a north-south direction. The two sides of the canal are linked by streets and alleys, forming a 770-meter long extensive urban green corridor.
