Hsinchu Railway Station - Front Square Introduction

The Hsinchu Railway Station Square underwent a landscape renovation project in 2018, featuring brand new pedestrian walkways and designs that promote accessibility and the separation of pedestrians and vehicles, enhancing pedestrian safety and bringing citizens closer to the square. The revitalized city facade is visually open, with spacious flat walkways that ensure safety, allowing wheelchair users to access the smooth sidewalks. Additionally, the square has become a popular venue for performances, gatherings, and conversations among young people. The square incorporates the concepts of a "big park" and "human-centric" design, accommodating 1,500 people in a pedestrian area that separates people from vehicles, creating a safe and comfortable waiting space, and connecting to the moat, the corner square of Fuhou Street, the cultural bureau green corridor, the Hsinchu Greenway, and the 4-kilometer-long "Hsinchu Forest" along Long'en Canal.
