Hsinchu Railway Station - Station Front Plaza Introduction
Hsinchu Railway Station Square underwent a landscape renovation in 2018, featuring a completely new pedestrian walkway and a design that separates pedestrians and vehicles, enhancing pedestrian safety and bringing the square closer to the citizens. The renovated square has become a fresh face for the city, with a visually penetrating layout and spacious pathways that ensure safety, making it accessible for wheelchair users. Furthermore, the square has become a popular venue for performances, gatherings, and socializing among young people. Integrating the concepts of "Great Park" and "Human-Centric" design, the square accommodates up to 1,500 people and separates pedestrians from vehicles, creating a safe and comfortable waiting area for passengers. It also connects to the surrounding features including the moat, the corner square of Fuhou Street, the cultural bureau's green corridor, the Hsinchu Greenway, and the "Hsinchu Forest," which extends over 4 kilometers along Long'en Channel.
