Hsinchu Railway Station - Front Square Introduction

The square in front of Hsinchu Railway Station has undergone landscape renovation in 2018, featuring a brand new pedestrian pathway with designs for accessibility and traffic separation to enhance pedestrian safety and bring citizens closer to the square, giving the urban facade a fresh look. The station square project creates a visually penetrating space with spacious, flat walkways that are not only safe but also accessible for wheelchair users. Additionally, the square serves as a popular venue for young people to perform, gather, and chat. It incorporates the concepts of "Great Park" and "Human-centered Design," accommodating a walking square for 1,500 people, ensuring the separation of pedestrians and vehicles, creating a safe and comfortable waiting area, and linking the moat, Fuhou Street corner square, Cultural Affairs Bureau green corridor, Hsinchu Greenway, and Long'en Canal, forming a "Forest of Hsinchu" spanning 4 kilometers.
