Hsinchu Railway Station - Front Plaza Introduction
The front square of Hsinchu Railway Station underwent a landscape renovation project in 2018, featuring a completely new pedestrian walkway and a design that separates pedestrians and vehicles, enhancing pedestrian safety and bringing the public closer to the square, transforming the city's facade. The front square project creates a visually penetrable space, with spacious flat walkways that are not only safe but also accessible for individuals in wheelchairs. In addition, the square is a popular venue for young people to perform, gather, and chat. The front square incorporates the concepts of "Great Park" and "human-centered design," accommodating a walking plaza for 1,500 people, ensuring pedestrian and vehicle separation, allowing pedestrians not to compete with vehicles for space, creating a safe and comfortable waiting area for passengers, and connecting the moat, the plaza at the corner of Fuhou Street, the green corridor of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Hsinchu Greenway, and the Long'en Stream, forming the "Hsinchu Forest" spanning 4 kilometers.
