Yang's Filial Piety Archway Introduction
Yang's Memorial Archway is the first archway in Hsinchu City and the oldest surviving archway in Northern Taiwan. The wife of Lin Chi, Yang Ju-niang, lost her husband at the age of twenty-four. She attempted to follow her husband in death multiple times but instead took on the role of both mother and father, enduring hardships to raise her children to success. She passed away at the age of forty-five, and her acts of filial piety became a model for others.
