Yang's Sacrificial Gratitude Archway Introduction
The Yang's Filial Piety Arch is the first archway in Hsinchu City and the oldest existing archway in Northern Taiwan. Yang Ju-niang, the wife of Zhuqianlin Chi, lost her husband at the age of twenty-four and attempted to follow him in death multiple times. As a mother, she took on the responsibilities of a father, enduring hardships while raising her children to adulthood. She passed away at the age of forty-five, and her deeds of filial piety have become a model of virtue.
