Yang's Filial Piety Archway Introduction
The Yang Family Martyrdom Arch is the first archway in Hsinchu City and the oldest existing archway in northern Taiwan. Yang Ju-niang, the wife of Zhuqian Linchi, lost her husband at the age of twenty-four and attempted to follow him in death multiple times. She took on the responsibilities of both a mother and a father, enduring hardships to raise her children successfully until her death at the age of forty-five, making her acts of chastity and filial piety a model for others.
