Yang's Filial Piety Memorial Arch Introduction
The Yang Family Filial Piety Arch is the first archway in Hsinchu City and is the oldest existing archway in northern Taiwan. Yang Ju-niang, the wife of Zhu Qianlin, lost her husband at the age of twenty-four and attempted to follow him in death multiple times. She took on the role of both mother and father, enduring hardships to raise her children to success, and her exemplary filial piety is remembered even after her death at the age of forty-five.
