Li Xijin Filial Piety Square Introduction

Li Xijin was born in 1786. He was enthusiastic about public welfare and was extremely filial to his parents. He, along with the first successful candidate Zheng Yongsu, traveled to various places to resolve violent conflicts. Local gentry admired his filial piety and righteous deeds, which led to his recommendation for recognition and the establishment of a filial piety arch. This archway is made of Quanzhou white stone, with a plaque made of green斗石, and its base features gourd-shaped stones resembling drum stones. It is currently the only remaining filial piety arch in Taiwan.
