Yuanlin Community Introduction
Yuanlinza, a rustic natural historical preservation area, is a small village that has gathered on high land for over a century, rooted by the Jii and Huang families. It boasts abundant natural resources, including century-old lychee trees and century-old cold springs. In 2003, the Wild at Heart Legal Defense Association identified the area as a unique paradise on the outskirts of the city, rich in diverse flora and fauna, including insects, frogs, and butterflies. In recent years, with the support of the city government, the Yuanlinza Ecological Art Development Association was established to actively engage in community building, ensuring that the century-old lychee trees, ancient wells, cold springs, and old graves, among other historical sites, are well-preserved. Through various activities, more people are made aware of the beauty of Yuanlinza. Historical Trivia: The name "Yuanlinza" derives from the shape of the terrain, which resembles a round basket, thus, it was originally known as "Round Basket." Today, it is commonly called "Yuanlinza," and within the settlement, there are other names such as Yuanlinza, Huijiaozi, Liu Jiaozi, and Mupudu.
