Yuanlin Community Introduction
Yuanlinzi, a rustic and natural historical preservation area, is a small settlement that formed over a hundred years ago, established by the Ji and Huang clans. It is rich in natural resources, featuring century-old lychee trees and century-old cold springs. In 2003, the Wild at Heart Legal Defense Association observed the area and discovered a variety of local flora and fauna, including many insects, frogs, and butterflies, making it a paradise on the urban edge. Recently, with assistance from the city government, the Yuanlinzi Ecological Art Development Association was established to actively engage in community building efforts. This has allowed the preservation of historical sites such as century-old lychee trees, ancient wells, cold springs, and old tombs, while activities have been organized to help more people understand this beautiful land of Yuanlinzi. Historical Trivia: The name "Yuanlinzi" derives from the circular shape of the terrain, which is reminiscent of a round basket. It is commonly referred to as "Yuanlinzi," and within the settlement, there are various place names such as Yuanlinzi, Huayaozi, Liujiuzi, and Mupu.
