Central Fountain Introduction
A landmark of Chiayi people's spirit - The colorful central fountain was built in 1970 during Mayor Hsu Shih-hsien's tenure. The fountain features fourteen variations, cycling approximately every fifteen minutes, with water reaching heights of twenty meters. Especially at night, the water display transforms with vibrant colors, creating a stunning spectacle. Nowadays, the day before each election, candidates gather with supporters at this location to rally, making it a distinctive feature of the central fountain and a symbol of the Chiayi people's spirit.
