Full Moon Round National Forest Recreation Area Introduction
The Full Moon Round National Forest Recreation Area covers an area of 1,573 hectares, with elevations ranging from approximately 300 to 1,728 meters. It is surrounded by mountains such as Full Moon Round Mountain, Bear Hole South Mountain, North Chai Tian Mountain, Laka Mountain, and Dongyan Mountain. The area features the Luizi Stream, which flows through and creates steep river valley terrain with significant elevation differences, resulting in numerous waterfall landscapes, earning it the title of "Waterfall Paradise." Besides the most spectacular Full Moon Round Waterfall, there is also a Silver Curtain Waterfall located not far behind it, and the Virgin Waterfall, situated on the left tributary of the Luizi Stream, is known as "Rainbow Waterfall" due to the frequent rainbows seen there. Near the Full Moon Round Forest Recreation Area, there is a Thousand Household Legendary Ecological Farm located around the confluence of Laka Creek and Zhongkeng Creek. This ecological farm, themed around tourism and aquaculture, allows visitors to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery while tasting various delicious fish raised in the clear upstream waters of the Sanxia River; for example, the highly nutritious high-altitude rainbow trout and sturgeon dishes that promote health and metabolism. The Luizi Stream ecological trail within the area takes about 50 minutes to walk to the Full Moon Round Waterfall, while there is also a self-guided forest trail that leads through the Japanese cedar forest to the Dongman Trail entrance and the observation pavilion for the Full Moon Round Waterfall, which is spacious and suitable for families to enjoy nature and absorb phytoncides. The Full Moon Round area is not only rich in vegetation and stream landscapes, but in autumn the foliage turns into a vibrant red maple, attracting large crowds of maple enthusiasts.
