Full Moon Round National Forest Recreation Area Introduction
The Full Moon Round National Forest Recreation Area covers an area of 1,573 hectares, with an elevation ranging from approximately 300 to 1,728 meters. It is surrounded by mountains such as Full Moon Round Mountain, Bear Hollow South Mountain, North Insert Sky Mountain, Laka Mountain, and East Eye Mountain. The Muya Creek flows through the park, which features steep valley terrain and significant elevation drops, creating many waterfall landscapes, earning it the nickname "Waterfall Paradise." In addition to the most spectacular Full Moon Round Waterfall, there is a Silver Curtain Waterfall not far behind it, and the Virgin Waterfall, located on a left tributary of Muya Creek, is known as the "Rainbow Waterfall" because rainbows are frequently seen there. Nearby the Full Moon Round National Forest Recreation Area is the Qianhu Legendary Ecological Farm, located at the confluence of Laka Creek and Zhongkeng Creek. This ecological farm, themed around sightseeing and aquaculture, allows visitors to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and sample various delicious fresh fish farmed in the clear streams upstream of the Sanxia area; for example, the highly nutritious high-altitude rainbow trout and sturgeon dishes known for their nourishment and metabolism-boosting properties. The ecological trail along Muya Creek takes about 50 minutes to reach the Full Moon Round Waterfall, and there is also a self-guided forest trail that leads from the Taiwan cedar forest along the way to the entrance of the East Full Moon Trail and the viewing pavilion of the Full Moon Round Waterfall, spacious and gentle enough for families to enjoy the outdoors and absorb phytoncides. Full Moon Round not only boasts rich vegetation and stream landscapes but also transforms into a sea of maple colors every autumn, attracting numerous visitors for maple viewing.
