Little Wulai Sky Bridge Introduction
Xiao Wulai Scenic Area is located in the eastern mountainous region between Xia Yun Ping and Fuxing Bridge along the Northern Cross-Island Highway. It is one of the well-known attractions along the Northern Cross-Island Highway. Visitors to the scenic area can enjoy cherry blossoms, waterfalls, and riverside activities, and should not miss the first transparent skywalk in Taiwan. Additionally, a newly emerging attraction in the Xiao Wulai Scenic Specific Area is the Sky Rope Bridge, which was inaugurated on Valentine's Day with the full support of the Taoyuan City Government. It aims to allow every tourist visiting the area to connect with nature, relax their minds, and recall the feelings of first love, creating memorable experiences. Currently, the most popular spot in the Xiao Wulai Scenic Area is the thrilling "Sky Walk," where visitors can feel the excitement of having waterfalls and deep abysses beneath their feet. After leaving the Sky Walk, visitors can reach the "Sky Rope Bridge," which is just a five-minute walk away. This newly opened rope bridge, supported by a steel cable at the bottom, spans 70 meters across a 50-meter-high canyon. Its thrilling nature makes it a seamless upgrade to the Xiao Wulai Sky Walk 2.0. Opened in 2015, the Sky Rope Bridge contrasts with the Sky Walk's transparent glass by allowing only one person to walk at a time on its approximately 100-centimeter-wide surface. Although the bridge's structure is designed to support up to 120 tons, and wind-resistant cables have been installed on both sides to prevent excessive swaying in high winds, the bridge's main cable is located below, adding to the swaying sensation as visitors walk. The height of the steel cables reaches about chest level, allowing visitors to appreciate the lush forest scenery from above, providing a unique high-altitude challenge. In addition to experiencing the thrill of traversing the deep valley, the waterfall views are also a worthwhile sight. Midway across the rope bridge, visitors can first overlook the "Mysterious Waterfall" hidden in the valley. Since the rope bridge allows one-way passage, reaching the other end leads to either the "Yixing Suspension Bridge" or "Longfeng Waterfall." If visitors wish to exercise their legs, they can opt for the "Shuizhen Ancient Trail," which takes about one and a half hours round trip to the "Yixing Suspension Bridge." Alternatively, they can choose to visit the "Longfeng Waterfall," which is only a twenty-minute return trip. The waterfall consists of two tiers: the upper "Long Valley Waterfall," which is about 13 meters high, and the lower "Phoenix Valley Waterfall," which is about 9 meters high. The negative ions and phytoncides emitted by the cascading water provide visitors with a refreshing experience in nature.
