Little Wulai Sky Bridge Introduction
Xiaowulai Scenic Area is located on the eastern mountain area between Xiyunping and Fuxing Bridge along the Northern Cross-Island Highway. It is one of the well-known attractions along this route. In addition to cherry blossom viewing, waterfall observation, and riverside activities, visitors can't miss Taiwan's first transparent skywalk and the newly established Sky Rope Bridge within this scenic area. Constructed under the full support of the Taoyuan City Government, it was inaugurated on Valentine's Day, aiming to allow every traveler to get close to nature, relax their minds, and reminisce about their first love, creating beautiful memories. Currently, the most popular attraction in Xiaowulai Scenic Area is the thrilling Skywalk, where visitors can enjoy the exhilarating sensation of having both waterfalls and abysses beneath their feet. After leaving the Skywalk, a five-minute walk leads to the Sky Rope Bridge, a newly opened suspension bridge fixed by steel cables, stretching seventy meters long and suspended about fifty meters above the Dali River Valley. The thrill it offers is akin to an upgraded version of Xiaowulai Skywalk 2.0. Opened in 2015, unlike the Skywalk which challenges visual limits with transparent glass, the Sky Rope Bridge allows only one person at a time to walk on its approximately one-meter-wide surface. Although the structural design has been planned to support a weight of 120 tons from the beginning, with wind-resistant main cables installed on both sides of the bridge to prevent excessive swaying in strong winds, the main cable of the rope bridge is located below the path as opposed to the Skywalk's which is above. Coupled with the synchronous steps of visitors, the swinging sensation while walking across the bridge offers a unique experience, as if swaying between the valleys with the canyon riverbed beneath. In addition to experiencing the thrill of traversing the deep valley, the waterfall views are another highlight worth visiting. Walking to the middle section of the rope bridge, you can first overlook the "Mysterious Waterfall" hidden in the valley. As the rope bridge allows one-way traffic, reaching the other end leads to "Yixing Suspension Bridge" and "Longfeng Waterfall." If you want to challenge your leg strength, you can choose the "Shuizhen Ancient Path" to Yixing Suspension Bridge, which takes about one and a half hours round trip. Alternatively, you can visit the "Longfeng Waterfall," just a twenty-minute return trip away. The waterfall is divided into two tiers: the upper "Dragon Valley Waterfall," about thirteen meters high, and the lower "Phoenix Valley Waterfall," about nine meters high. The negative ions and phytoncides contained in its cascading waters allow people to fully enjoy the cleansing power of nature.
