Xiaowulai Sky Walk Introduction
Xiao Wulai Scenic Area is located in the eastern mountainous area between Xiyuanping and Fuxing Bridge along the northern cross-island highway. It is one of the well-known attractions along the route. Visitors to the scenic area can enjoy cherry blossoms, waterfalls, waterfront activities, and can't miss the first transparent sky walkway in Taiwan. Additionally, there is a new attraction in the Xiao Wulai Scenic Area – the Sky Rope Bridge. Launched by the Taoyuan City Government just in time for Valentine's Day, it aims to connect every visitor with nature, clear their minds, and recall the feelings of first love, leaving wonderful memories. Currently, the most popular attraction in Xiao Wulai Scenic Area is the thrilling "Sky Walkway," which offers an exhilarating experience of walking above waterfalls and deep chasms. After bidding farewell to the Sky Walkway, a five-minute walk leads to the "Sky Rope Bridge." This newly opened rope bridge is supported by steel cables and spans 70 meters across the Dali Creek Valley, standing about 50 meters above ground. Its thrilling experience is a seamless upgrade from the Xiao Wulai Sky Walkway 2.0. Opened in 2015, the Sky Rope Bridge, unlike the Sky Walkway that challenges visual limits with transparent glass, allows visitors to walk on a bridge width of about 100 cm that accommodates only one person at a time. Although designed to support a load of 120 tons, special anti-wind cables have been installed on both sides to prevent excessive swaying in strong winds. While the main cable of the Sky Walkway is above, the main cable of the Rope Bridge is installed beneath. Coupled with the vibrational effects from the footsteps of visitors, the rope bridge feels particularly shaky, creating a sensation of swinging amidst the valley, with the canyon riverbed beneath; the height of the steel cables reaches about chest level, offering visitors an unobstructed view of the lush forest scenery, making this unique high-altitude challenge truly special. In addition to experiencing the thrill of traversing the deep valley on the Sky Rope Bridge, the waterfall views are another beautiful sight worth visiting. Midway across the rope bridge, one can first overlook the "Mysterious Waterfall" hidden in the valley. Since the rope bridge allows one-way traffic, reaching the other end will lead visitors to either the "Yixing Suspension Bridge" or the "Longfeng Waterfall." If visitors wish to exercise their legs, they can opt for a round trip of about one and a half hours along the "Water Channel Ancient Road" leading to the "Yixing Suspension Bridge." Alternatively, one can choose to visit the "Longfeng Waterfall," which is only a twenty-minute return trip. The waterfall has upper and lower sections, with the upper "Long Valley Waterfall" standing about 13 meters high and the lower "Phoenix Valley Waterfall" about 9 meters high. The negative ions and phytoncides from the flowing water provide a refreshing experience in nature.
