Xiao Wulai Sky Bridge Introduction
Xiao Wulai Scenic Area is located in the eastern mountainous region between Xiayunping and Fuxing Bridge along the Northern Cross-Island Highway, and it is one of the well-known attractions along this route. Visitors can enjoy cherry blossoms, waterfalls, and a waterfront experience in the scenic area. Additionally, a must-visit new spot in the Xiao Wulai Scenic Area is the Sky Rope Bridge, which was officially opened by the Taoyuan City Government on Valentine's Day to allow every traveler to connect with nature, empty their minds, and reminisce about the feelings of first love, creating beautiful memories. The most popular attraction currently in Xiao Wulai Scenic Area is the thrilling "Sky Walk," where visitors can experience the excitement of having waterfalls and abysses underfoot. After saying goodbye to the Sky Walk, it’s just a five-minute walk to the "Sky Rope Bridge." This newly opened rope bridge, secured by a steel cable at the bottom, spans 70 meters above the Dali River Gorge, providing an exhilarating experience, akin to an upgraded version of the Xiao Wulai Sky Walk. Opened in 2015, the Sky Rope Bridge offers a different experience from the Sky Walk, which challenges visual limits with transparent glass. Instead, it allows visitors to walk on a bridge only wide enough for one person, approximately 100 cm wide. Although the structural strength was initially designed to support 120 tons of weight, with anti-wind anchors installed on both sides to prevent excessive swaying in strong winds, the main cable of the rope bridge is installed below the pathway, creating a unique sense of swaying as visitors walk, almost as if they are swinging between the valleys with the riverbed below. The height of the steel cables reaches about the chest level, allowing visitors to enjoy the lush forest scenery unobstructed, and the unique high-altitude challenge provides a different flavor. Besides experiencing the thrill of traversing the deep valley, the beautiful waterfall views are also worth visiting. Midway across the rope bridge, visitors can first overlook the "Mysterious Waterfall" nestled in the valley; since the rope bridge only allows one-way traffic, at the other end of the bridge, there are paths leading to "Yihsing Suspension Bridge" and "Longfeng Waterfall." If one wishes to exercise their leg strength, they can choose the "Shuichun Ancient Path" leading to the "Yihsing Suspension Bridge," which takes about one and a half hours round trip, or opt for a closer visit to the "Longfeng Waterfall," which only takes twenty minutes to return. The waterfall is divided into two tiers, with the upper layer being the "Long Valley Waterfall," about 13 meters high, and the lower layer being the "Phoenix Valley Waterfall," about 9 meters high. The negative ions and phytoncides from the cascading waters provide a refreshing experience in nature.
