Jinbaoli Old Trail (Yulu Ancient Path) Introduction
The Fish Route, historically known as Yu Zai Lu or Jinbaoli Dalu, has an average elevation of 500 meters and is located in the Jinshan District of New Taipei City. It was a vital path for fishermen in Jinbaoli (Jinshan) to transport their catch to places like Dadaocheng. The cultural and ecological features along the route make it one of the most scenic and well-preserved sections of the ancient pathway. The later part of this trail corresponds to the modern "Tianmu Ancient Trail," which is a lush, cool, and convenient path suitable for family outings. Along the Yangjin Expressway, you will arrive at the Shanghuang Stream parking lot, which features an information station that describes the life and routes of early fishermen and merchants along with details about mining activities. Climbing up the stone steps connects to a mountain path, allowing you to traverse through layers of trees until you reach a viewpoint that offers the best view of Dayoukeng. Not far away, you can see the cooking stove used by early miners, equipped with an explanatory sign. Continuing forward, the scene of the Ban Keng Waterfall, appearing like a silver chain of water, will captivate you, and standing on the small bridge, you can enjoy the refreshing and leisurely sensation brought by the waterfall and flowing water, making for a delightful experience.
