No. 823 Memorial Park (Zhonghe Park) Introduction
The 823 Memorial Park, also known as "No. 4 Park" or "Zhonghe Park," is located in the Zhonghe District of New Taipei City, between Yongzheng Road, Anle Road, Anping Road, and Zhong'an Street. It can be accessed by taking the Taipei Metro to Yong'an Market Station. Covering an area of approximately 11 hectares, it is adjacent to or close to Yonghe District and is currently the largest park in the Shuanghe area, earning the nickname "Lung of Shuanghe." The 823 Taiwan Strait Battle Monument serves as the park's landmark, commemorating a battle that had a profound impact on the development of contemporary Taiwan. The park is also home to the National Taiwan Library, a century-old library housing important documents from the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese colonial period. Additionally, the park features facilities such as a basketball court, children's play area, skating rink, pavilions, dog-walking area, public restrooms, and fitness areas, making it a great place for sports and recreation.
