823 Memorial Park (Zhonghe Park) Introduction
The 823 Memorial Park, also known as "Park No. 4" or "Zhonghe Park," is located in the Yongzheng Road, Anle Road, Anping Road, and Zhong'an Street area of Zhonghe District, New Taipei City. It can be accessed by taking the Taipei Metro to Yong'an Market Station. Covering an area of approximately 11 hectares, it is adjacent to or close to Yonghe District and is currently the largest park in the Shuanghe area, often referred to as the "Lung of Shuanghe." The 823 Taiwan Strait Battle Monument is a landmark of the park, commemorating a battle that had a profound impact on the development of contemporary Taiwan. Additionally, the park is home to the National Taiwan Library, a century-old library that houses important literature from the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan. The park also features facilities such as basketball courts, a children's play area, an ice skating rink, pavilions, a dog walking area, public restrooms, and fitness equipment, making it a great place for sports and leisure activities.
