823 Memorial Park (Zhonghe Park) Introduction
The Baishawan Memorial Park, also known as "Park No. 4" or "Zhonghe Park," is located between Yongzheng Road, Anle Road, Anping Road, and Zhong'an Street in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City. It can be accessed by taking the Taipei Metro's Zhonghe-Xinlu Line to Yong'an Market Station. Covering an area of approximately 11 hectares, it is adjacent to and close to Yonghe District, making it the largest park in the Shuanghe area, often referred to as the "Lung of Shuanghe." The Baishawan Battle Memorial is a landmark of the park, commemorating a battle that had a profound impact on the development of contemporary Taiwan. Baishawan Memorial Park is also home to the National Taiwan Library, a century-old institution that houses important documents from the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan. The park features facilities such as basketball courts, a children's play area, a skating rink, pavilions, a dog walking area, public restrooms, and fitness equipment, making it a great place for sports and recreation.
