823 Memorial Park (Zhonghe Park) Introduction
The 823 Memorial Park, also known as "No. 4 Park" or "Zhonghe Park," is located in the Yongzheng Road, Anle Road, Anping Road, and Zhong'an Street area of Zhonghe District, New Taipei City. It can be accessed by taking the Taipei Metro to Yong’an Market Station. Covering an area of approximately 11 hectares, it is adjacent to or close to Yonghe District and is currently the largest park in the Shuanghe area, often referred to as the "Lung of Shuanghe." The 823 Taiwan Strait Campaign Monument serves as the park's landmark, commemorating a battle that profoundly influenced the development of contemporary Taiwan. The park is also home to the National Taiwan Library, which houses important documents from the Qing Dynasty and the Japanese colonial period. Additional facilities within the park include basketball courts, a children's playground, a skating rink, pavilions, a dog walking area, restrooms, and fitness equipment, making it an excellent place for sports and leisure activities.
