New Taipei Metropolitan Park (Erchong Flood Diversion Canal Riverside Park) Introduction
Located within the New Taipei Metropolitan Park, the "Bear and Monkey Forest Park" officially opened in July 2020. Covering an area of 4 hectares, it incorporates elements of Taiwan's unique animal imagery, creating the largest all-age inclusive slope slide amusement park in Taiwan. The park features a total of 31 large and small slides and over 100 playground facilities, making it not only a paradise for children to play all day but also a great place for adults and children to have fun and relieve stress together! From a high vantage point overlooking Bear and Monkey Forest Park, visitors will see colorful themes representing sky, mountains, forests, and streams. Taiwan's national treasure animals are transformed into large-scale amusement installations hidden within these themes, such as the Taiwan Blue Pheasant pebble slide, the Taiwan Blue Magpie climbing net, the cherry blossom salmon climbing seat, and the Formosan Black Bear swing. Informative plaques introduce the animals' names, habits, and sizes, achieving an educational and entertaining effect. The reverse side of the plaques provides detailed information on the appropriate age group and safety precautions for the playground facilities, ensuring that children can explore the fun and challenging playground safely. The diverse cute animals also provide endless opportunities for adults to take photos! Thoughtful design allows for nighttime play as well. Family restrooms and several accessible pathways are located nearby, allowing travelers to enjoy their visit to the fullest. Currently, Bear and Monkey Forest Park operates from 6 AM to 10 PM. It is recommended to visit in the evening during the hot summer days, as the ample night lighting makes it a perfect paradise for kids' nighttime parties. Water and land fun combined! In the summer of 2022, the "Sea World Water Park," covering an area of 1,500 square meters, opened. It continues the theme of Taiwan's unique animals, featuring seven types of Taiwan-themed aquatic creatures such as green sea turtles, horseshoe crabs, mudskippers, hermit crabs, Penghu octopuses, moon jellies, and garden eels. With non-slip flooring for visitor safety, guests are welcome to bring water guns for a fun summer experience.
