Chenguang Bridge Introduction
Chengguang Bridge is located within the New Taipei Metropolitan Park in the Sanchong District. It is a newly opened scenic bridge that began operations at the end of 2018. Chengguang Bridge connects both banks of the Erchong Flood Diversion Canal, with its design concept inspired by the legendary story of the reunion between the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl. The structure features a double-layer hyperbolic archway that creates a viewing platform, and the winding Chengguang Bridge symbolizes the path of reunion akin to a galaxy. In addition to its unique bridge design, illuminated at night it presents a romantic constellation light sculpture! As the first water-friendly scenic bridge dedicated to pedestrians and cyclists for rest and transit, Chengguang Bridge features a landscape stream, water play carpet, light meal relaxation plaza, plant beautification, five nighttime constellation light sculptures, three accessible elevators, four gentle sloped access paths, and seven nebula magpie birdhouses, allowing the public to appreciate the beauty of the New Taipei Metropolitan Park both day and night.
