Zhongxiao Night Market Introduction
Zhongxiao Night Market is a regular street night market located on Zhongxiao Road in the South District of Taichung City. It originated during the Japanese colonial period and mainly stretches between Taichung Road and Guoguang Road, with Minyi Street, Zhengqi Street, Hezuo Street, Zhengyi Street, and Jishi Street running through the middle. Unlike other mixed commercial areas such as Yizhong Street Night Market, Fengjia Night Market, and Donghai Villa Night Market, Zhongxiao Night Market is primarily known for its food. The commercial area is filled with snack stalls and restaurants. Adjacent to the Third Market of Taichung City, the market closes just as Zhongxiao Night Market begins its operations, with most vendors opening around 4 PM. Famous snacks include rice cakes in bamboo tubes, salt and pepper chicken, barbecue, tofu pudding, steak, thick rice noodles, stinky tofu, omelette rice, pork rib rice, sugarcane juice, and more.
