Dongguang Garden Trail Introduction
Taichung City has a pleasant climate and boasts a unique parkway system. In recent years, it has actively promoted dedicated bike lanes, integrating various living functions and planning bike paths with themes of culture, emotion, and tourism. The Dongguang Parkway bike path is part of Taichung city's circular recreational bike path system. This section starts from Taiyuan Station and follows the railway, enjoying the ride alongside trains. It then turns into the Hanjiao Old Street area, where the Lecheng Temple, one of the four major Mazu temples, is located. Lecheng Temple has a long history and is designated as a municipal historic site. Riding on the Dongguang Parkway, one is shaded by the evergreen small-leaf olives, as the trees are tall and provide a wide coverage of shade, making it the coolest and most comfortable segment of the entire circular recreational bike path. The Dongguang Parkway bike path is very suitable for family outings and leads cyclists to Dazhi Park and Dongfeng Park. Passing through the towering blackboard tree forest, one can reach National Chung Hsing University.
