Nantian Temple was built in 1952, initially completing the main hall, and in 1953, the front hall was completed. It is dedicated to Guan Di (God of War) and at that time was the largest Guan Di Temple in Taichung City. In 1980, a 146-meter tall statue of the Holy Emperor was built, which after completion in 1984, could be seen from afar, becoming a landmark of Nantian Temple.

Nantian Temple - Guandi Introduction

Nantian Temple currently stands six stories high, with each floor dedicated to different deities: Confucius, General Yue Fei, the God of Wealth, the Earth God, the God of Matchmaking, Wenchang Dijun, the Empress of Heaven, the Goddess of Childbirth, Guanyin, Baosheng Dadi, Yuhuang Dadi, the Southern Dipper Star Lord, the Northern Dipper Star Lord, Fuyou Dijun, Xuantian Shangdi, and Tianguan Dadi. From the sixth floor, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the streets of Taichung's East District, providing a refreshing sense of tranquility.
