Nantian Temple was established in 1952, with the main hall completed in 1953. It is dedicated to Guandi (the God of War), and at that time, it was the largest Guandi temple in Taichung City. In 1980, a base and a six-story statue of the Supreme Deity, standing at 146 meters tall, were built. Completed in 1984, this towering statue can be seen from afar and has become a symbol of Nantian Temple.

Nantian Temple - Lord Guan Introduction

Nantian Temple currently stands six stories high, with each floor dedicated to different deities: Confucius, General Yue Fei, the God of Wealth, Earth God, the Old Man Under the Moon, Wenchang Dijun, Mazu, Zusheng Niangniang, Guanyin Bodhisattva, Baosheng Dadi, Yuhuang Dadi, the Southern Star Lord, the Northern Star Lord, Fuyou Diji, Xuantian Shangdi, and Tianguan Dadi; from the sixth floor, one can overlook the streets of Taichung's East District, providing a refreshing and uplifting experience.
