貯木池

The park was formerly known as the "Dasyueshan Forestry Company," which was the largest lumber mill in East Asia during the 1960s and the first in Taiwan to adopt American-style integrated operations. It created a model forestry industry in Taiwan and boosted the prosperity of the Taichung mountainous area. After the forestry company ceased operations, the park preserved some precious historical sites of the lumber industry. The log storage pool has transformed into an ideal habitat for migratory birds, insects, and other animals, demonstrating the shift from resource exploitation to ecological conservation in forestry culture. In summer, the lotus flowers bloom in the pool, making it the best lotus viewing spot in central Taiwan. The park also values natural resources by using driftwood collected over the years to invite domestic and international masters to intricately carve wooden sculptures that reflect diverse cultural styles. Through the unique carving techniques of these wood artists, driftwood is given a renewed and sustainable vitality, shaping the park into a uniquely characterized wood sculpture ecological aesthetic park.
