Taipei Smoking Area Introduction
Taipei Tobacco Market was established in 1955 as a place for the Public Tobacco Bureau to assess and purchase tobacco leaves from farmers. It witnessed the development of Taiping's tobacco industry and was registered as a historical building in 2013. After restoration, it has been planned into three main exhibition areas: the first area focuses on local arts and culture; the second area is the Tobacco Interpretation Hall, introducing the history of the tobacco industry; and the last area is a memorial area showcasing works by internationally renowned iron sculptor Chen Tingshi, creating a new space that combines history with art and culture.
