Taiping Tobacco Shop Introduction
The Taiping Tobacco Purchase Station was built in 1955 as a place for the Monopoly Bureau to evaluate and purchase tobacco leaves from farmers. Witnessing the development of the Taiping tobacco industry, it was listed as a historical building in 2013. After restoration, it has been planned into three main exhibition areas: the local arts and culture exhibition area; the Tobacco Interpretation Pavilion that introduces the history of the tobacco industry; and finally, the memorial area showcasing works by internationally renowned iron sculptor Chen Tsin-shih, creating a new venue that combines history with artistic culture.
