Shuangqi Tribe Ambush Flat Hiking Trail (Closed) Introduction
Due to the heavy rains caused by Typhoon Danas in July and the southwest airflow on July 28, disaster recovery work will be carried out. The mountain trail has been closed for safety reasons, and the public is advised not to visit during the renovation period. We apologize for any inconvenience caused. The Shuangqi Village Maifuping Mountain Trail is 2.6 kilometers long, with an elevation between 520 and 760 meters. The trailhead is located next to the Free Community Office in the Heping District, where it connects to the Peach Orchard Mountain Trail and ends at Section 2 of Dongqi Road. The trail runs along the Daan River and is part of the Shuangqi Village of the Atayal ethnic group in the Beishi cluster, featuring rich natural forest resources, diverse ecosystems, and indigenous characteristics and culture. The site of the former village aqueduct and the narrow, dark mysterious cave pique the curiosity of visitors. Along the way, one can gaze over Shuangqi Village and the Daan River valley, with the mountainous greenery providing a refreshing view. Standing among the century-old jujube trees, the towering trees that several people can embrace stretch skyward, showcasing the beauty of the primeval forest. The Shuangqi Village Maifuping Mountain Trail was once an ancient hunting path of the Atayal people in the Beishi group, allowing visitors to get close to nature and deeply experience Taiwan's diverse culture. The bamboo forest and the secret realm of the century-old jujube trees are stunning natural landscapes, making it a recommended photo spot. The natural stone steps carved from giant boulders add to the enjoyable experience of the trail.
