Anping Chen Baozheng Residence Introduction
The Chen Baozheng Residence has existed on Yanping Street since the Qing Dynasty. It was the residence of Mr. Chen Zhiyun, who was dispatched from Fujian to Taiwan, during the late Qing Dynasty. This typical three-section street house later had its front section demolished when Yanping Street was widened, leaving only the central ridge of the front section and the layout of the middle and rear sections. Inside, there are interlayers and stone partition walls. Between the middle and rear sections, there is a prominent stone screen wall known as the "Baoji" screen wall, 42 centimeters thick, approximately four meters high and 1.5 meters wide. The screen wall features the "Baoji" characters in a bagua pattern, with sun and moon cloud decorations above and four bats surrounding the corners, making it the most distinctive feature of the building.
