Dong'anfang Cultural Park Introduction
Dong'an Square is centered around East Gate City, encompassing areas with historical churches, Cheng Huang Temple, and Eastern岳 Temple. At that time, the area east of East Gate in Tainan was an important settlement for Western churches' initial arrival in Taiwan. The first university in Taiwan, Tainan Theological Seminary, the first modern hospital, Hsin Lou Hospital, the first high school and girls' high school in Taiwan, Chang Jung Christian University and Chang Jung Christian High School, as well as the church's publishing house, were all located in this area. West of East Gate City is the Eastern岳 Temple and Cheng Huang Temple, around the current Minquan Road and Youth Road. Due to the influence of faith, this area is still primarily engaged in industries related to traditional folk beliefs.
