Zhongdu Love River Wetland Park Introduction
The Love River Wetland Park, which connects the ecological green corridors of Kaohsiung City, is located between Shiquan and Jiuru Roads on the south side of the Love River. Stretching approximately 2.5 kilometers and covering over 7,000 square meters, the park aims to create a "sustainable ecological city infused with the aroma of water and flowers" that integrates with citizens' daily lives. The park's ecologically engineered slopes recreate the rich ecological habitat of early wetlands. It features a log-structured visitor center, wooden pavilions, suspension bridges, tidal-access platforms, and light fixtures designed around driftwood, all exuding a rustic, natural ambiance. The diverse layers of vegetation mimic nature and enrich the urban landscape with lush greenery. Visitors can enjoy the winding riverbanks, where various waterbirds can be seen flying and nesting, while the red mangroves and wetlands reinvigorate the Love River. Due to its multifunctional design, which combines natural ecology, educational interpretation, and public recreation, as well as showcasing the diverse landscape along the Love River, the park was awarded the "Global Excellence in Infrastructure Award" in 2012 and is beautifully referred to as Kaohsiung's metropolitan paradise.
