Zhongdu Ai River Wetland Park Introduction
The Zhongdu Love River Wetland Park, which connects the ecological green corridor of Kaohsiung city, is located between Shiquan and Jiuru Roads on the south side of the Love River. It stretches approximately 2.5 kilometers and covers an area of over 7,000 square meters. In order to create a "sustainable ecological city with floral scents by the water" that blends with the lives of residents, the Love River Wetland Park constructs slopes using ecological methods, recreating the rich ecological habitat of early wetlands. The park features a log building as a visitor information center, as well as wooden pavilions, suspension bridges, tidal water platforms, and seating designed around driftwood, all of which have a rustic yet nature-inspired vibe. The layered forest plantings mimic natural landscapes and rejuvenate the urban area with rich greenery. Strolling along the lush and winding riverbanks, visitors can observe various water birds flying and resting, while the mangroves and wetlands bring vibrant life back to the Love River. Due to its multifunctional design that incorporates natural ecology, educational interpretation, and public recreation, while fully presenting the diverse scenery along the Love River, it was honored with the "Global Excellence in Construction Award" in 2012, earning it the nickname "Kaohsiung Metropolitan Peach Blossom Land."
