Zhongdu Love River Wetland Park Introduction
The Zhongdu Love River Wetland Park, which connects the urban ecological green corridor of Kaohsiung, is located between Shiqian Road and Jiuru Road on the south side of the Love River. Spanning approximately 2.5 kilometers and covering over 7,000 square meters, the park aims to create a "sustainable ecological city with the scent of flowers by the water" that integrates with the daily lives of citizens. Utilizing ecological engineering techniques to construct slopes, the Love River Wetland Park recreates the rich ecological habitat of early wetlands. The park features a log-building visitor center for educational purposes, as well as wooden pavilions, suspension bridges, tidal water platforms, and seating designed around driftwood, all embodying a rustic yet natural aesthetic. Furthermore, the simulated layered forest plantings revived a rich forest landscape within the urban area. Visitors can enjoy the lush, winding riverbanks where various water birds can be seen flying and resting. The mangroves and wetlands reinvigorate the Love River with vibrant life. Due to its multifunctional design that combines natural ecology, educational interpretation, and public leisure, Zhongdu Wetland Park fully showcases the diverse aspects of the Love River's banks. In 2012, it was awarded the "Global Excellence in Construction Award," earning a reputation as the Peach Blossom Land of Kaohsiung.
