Zhongdu Love River Wetland Park Introduction
The Zhongdu Love River Wetland Park, which connects the city's ecological green corridors in Kaohsiung, is located between Shichuan and Jiuru Roads on the south side of the Love River. Spanning approximately 2.5 kilometers and covering over 7,000 square meters, the park aims to create a "sustainable ecological city with fragrant waterfront flowers" that integrates with the lives of citizens. Using ecological engineering methods to construct embankments, the park recreates the rich ecological habitats of early wetlands. Facilities include a log structure serving as a visitor center, wooden pavilions, suspension bridges, tidal waterfront platforms, and seating designed with driftwood-inspired lighting, all of which exude a rustic wilderness atmosphere. The layered forest planting mimics natural ecosystems, bringing back rich forestry to the urban area. As visitors stroll along the lush, winding riverbanks, they can observe various waterbirds soaring and resting, while mangroves and wetlands rejuvenate the Love River's vitality. Due to its multifunctional role as a natural ecology site, educational hub, and recreational area for the public, along with its diverse representation of the Love River landscape, the park was honored with the "Global Excellence in Construction Award" in 2012 and is often referred to as the "Peach Blossom Source of Kaohsiung."
