Zhongdu Love River Wetland Park Introduction
The Cijin Dadu Wetland Park, part of the urban ecological green corridor in Kaohsiung, is located between Shiquan and Jiuru Roads on the south side of the Love River. It spans approximately 2.5 kilometers and covers over seven thousand square meters. To create a "sustainable ecological city with waterfront floral fragrances" that blends with the lives of citizens, the Love River Wetland Park utilizes ecological methods to construct embankments, recreating the rich ecological habitats of early wetlands. The park features a log cabin as an information center for visitors, along with wooden pavilions, suspension bridges, tidal waterfront platforms, and light fixtures designed to resemble driftwood. These facilities exude a rustic charm and evoke a sense of the wilderness, while the naturalistic multilayer forest plantings restore the area's rich flora. As visitors stroll along the verdant, winding riverbanks, they can observe various waterbirds soaring and resting, and the mangroves and wetlands breathe new life into the Love River. Due to the multifunctional space that combines natural ecology, educational explanations, and recreational areas for the public, and its comprehensive display of the diverse landscapes along the Love River, it was awarded the "Global Outstanding Project Award" in 2012, earning it the nickname "Kaohsiung Metropolitan Paradise."
