Kaohsiung Astronomical Education Museum Introduction
The Astronomical Education Center, located within the Ganghe Elementary School in Xiaogang District, was established in 2000, eagerly anticipated by the citizens and astronomy enthusiasts of Kaohsiung. This small yet beautiful education center focuses on astronomical teaching, promoting the subject through multimedia exhibition halls, an astronomical observation platform, as well as various equipment and models. The center houses a 300mm reflecting telescope valued at over six million, guiding visitors into the realm of astronomical science. Through observation, viewing, and hands-on practical exercises, visitors can glimpse the mysteries of the universe. The Astronomical Education Center regularly holds children's astronomy camps and special celestial observation events, offering vibrant instructional courses to spark children's interest and knowledge in astronomy. It also provides group rentals for the "Astronomy Mobile Classroom," aiming to promote and ground astronomy education further, leading more people into the vast realm of astronomical science.
