Kaohsiung Astronomical Education Museum Introduction
The Astronomy Education Center, located within Ganghe Elementary School in the Xiaogang District, was established in 2000, eagerly anticipated by local residents and astronomy enthusiasts. This small yet beautiful educational facility focuses on astronomical education and promotion, featuring multimedia exhibition halls, an astronomical observation station, and various equipment and models. The center houses a 300mm reflecting telescope valued at over six million, guiding visitors into the realm of astronomical science. Through observation, viewing, and hands-on practice, visitors can explore the mysteries of the universe. The Astronomy Education Center regularly hosts children's astronomy camps and special astronomical observation events each year, aimed at increasing children's interest and understanding of astronomy through lively camp instruction. It also offers group rental of an "astronomy mobile classroom," with the hope of fostering wider public engagement and grounding in astronomical science through the center's efforts.
