Baolai Flower Appreciation Hot Spring Park Introduction
The hot spring area along Laonong River has as many as eight springs, among which the more famous ones are the Bulao Hot Spring and the Bulao Spring located in Liugui District, Kaohsiung. The Bulao Flower Appreciation Hot Spring Park, situated in the Bulao Hot Spring area, blooms with flowers throughout the year, allowing visitors to enjoy soaking in the hot springs while appreciating the flowers. The park is also planned to have luxury camping tents, providing a natural experience that also rejuvenates the mind and body. Bulao Hot Spring is classified as a bicarbonate spring, with a water temperature reaching 52°C and a pH value of approximately 7.2, making it a high-quality bicarbonate spring. It is characterized by its colorless, transparent water, and gentle spring quality, and because it softens the upper layer of the skin, it leaves a smooth feel after washing and is also known as the "Beauty Pool" or "Skin Beautification Spring." Following the damage to the hot spring source caused by Typhoon Morakot in 2009, and with active promotion from the Kaohsiung City Government, a successful hot spring well was drilled at the back of Bulao Junior High School in January 2017, and the acquired hot spring water was introduced into the Bulao Flower Appreciation Hot Spring Park. The Kaohsiung City Government invested in the renovation of the park, which reopened in 2020, upgrading the hot spring facilities to include new amenities such as changing rooms and spa pools, making it more convenient for visitors. Additionally, there are night hot spring pools, open year-round. Bulao Flower Appreciation Hot Spring Park covers an area of 5.4 hectares, surrounded by mountains, and is home to 1,370 flowering trees such as Tabebuia, Kawazu cherry blossoms, Jacarandas, and Silk Floss Trees, creating a colorful sea of flowers year-round with different blooms in spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Every March and April, the Tabebuia blossoms attract many visitors who come to experience the pleasure of foot and hand baths amidst the blooming flowers. Surrounding the hot springs, a camping area is planned with facilities for luxury tents, self-erected tents, and camper vans, allowing visitors to camp under the flowering trees and wake up to the sounds of insects and birds. The park has also added urban adventure exploration facilities, with multiple high-altitude experiences for you to challenge and adventure. Everyone is welcome to walk into the forest, breathe in the fresh air, and create unique travel memories of soaking in hot springs, camping, and adventure in nature.
