Baolai Flower Viewing Hot Spring Park Introduction
The Lienhuachiao Hot Spring Area along the Laonong River has as many as eight hot spring locations, among which the more well-known are the Bulao Hot Spring and Baolai Hot Spring located in Liouguei District, Kaohsiung. Baolai Hot Spring Park in the Baolai Hot Spring Area is full of blooming flowers throughout the year, allowing visitors to enjoy hot springs while admiring the flowers. The park also plans luxurious camping tents to experience nature while nurturing the mind and body. Baolai Hot Spring belongs to the bicarbonate spring category, with a water temperature reaching 52°C and a pH value of approximately 7.2. It is a high-quality bicarbonate spring, characterized by its colorless and transparent appearance, gentle water quality, and its ability to soften the skin surface, leaving the skin tender and smooth after washing, also known as "Beauty Spring" or "Skin Beauty Spring." The Morakot disaster in 2009 caused damage to the hot spring source. With the active promotion of the Kaohsiung City Government, a hot spring well was successfully drilled in January 2017 at the terrace behind Baolai Junior High School, allowing the obtained hot spring water to flow into Baolai Hot Spring Park. The Kaohsiung City Government invested funds to renovate the park, which reopened in 2020 with upgraded soaking facilities, increased changing rooms, spa pools, and other new amenities for the convenience of visitors. In addition, there are nighttime hot pools, and it operates year-round. Baolai Hot Spring Park covers an area of 5.4 hectares, surrounded by mountains, and is planted with 1,370 blooming trees such as royal poinciana, Yoshino cherry, jacaranda, and bougainvillea, creating vibrant flowering scenes year-round, with each season presenting its own blooming highlights. In March and April, the royal poinciana trees blossom beautifully, attracting many visitors to experience the joy of foot and hand baths amidst the blooming flowers. The hot spring area is planned as a camping zone, equipped with luxury tents, self-pitched tents, and RV facilities, allowing visitors to camp under the trees and awaken to the sounds of chirping insects and birds. The park has also added urban adventure exploration facilities, with multiple high-altitude experiences for you to fully challenge yourself and take risks. You are welcome to step into the forest, breathe in nature, and create unique travel memories of soaking in hot springs, camping, and adventure.
