Bola Flower Viewing Hot Spring Park Introduction
The hot spring area along the Laonong River has as many as eight sites, among which the more famous ones are the Bulao Hot Spring and the Bu Lao Hot Spring located in the Liuqui District of Kaohsiung. The Bulao Flower Viewing Hot Spring Park in the Bulao Hot Spring area is filled with blooming flowers throughout the year. In addition to soaking in the hot spring and enjoying the flowers, the park has planned luxurious camping tents for visitors to experience nature while rejuvenating both body and mind. The Bulao Hot Spring is classified as a bicarbonate spring, with a water temperature reaching 52°C and a pH value of about 7.2. It is a high-quality bicarbonate spring, characterized by its colorless and transparent appearance and mild water quality. Due to its ability to soften the skin's outer layer, the skin feels smooth after washing, hence it is also known as "beauty bath" or "skin-care bath." The Morakot typhoon in 2009 caused damage to the hot spring source. With the active promotion of the Kaohsiung City Government, a hot spring well was successfully drilled behind Bulao Junior High School in January 2017, and the obtained hot spring water was introduced into the Bulao Flower Viewing Hot Spring Park. The Kaohsiung City Government invested funds to renovate the park, which reopened in 2020 with upgraded soaking facilities, including new changing rooms and SPA pools, making it more convenient for visitors. In addition, there are nighttime hot spring pools and it is open year-round. Bulao Flower Viewing Hot Spring Park covers an area of 5.4 hectares, surrounded by mountains, and features 1,370 flowering trees such as the Chinese fir, Kawazu cherry, jacaranda, and silk tree, providing a colorful sea of flowers throughout the year. Each spring, particularly in March and April, the Chinese firs bloom spectacularly, attracting many visitors who wish to enjoy the delightful experience of foot and hand baths amidst the flowers. The hot spring pool area is planned as a camping zone, equipped with luxurious tents, self-pitched tents, and RV facilities, allowing visitors to camp under flowering trees and awaken to the sounds of chirping insects and birds. The park also features urban adventure exploration facilities, providing multiple high-altitude experiences for you to challenge and seek adventure. You are welcome to step into the forest and breathe in nature, creating unique travel memories of hot spring bathing, camping, and adventure.
