Baolai Flower Viewing Hot Spring Park Introduction

The hot spring area along the Laonong River has as many as eight locations, among which the more well-known ones are the Bu Lao Hot Spring and the Bu Lao Hot Spring in the Liouguei District of Kaohsiung. The Bu Lao Flower Viewing Hot Spring Park, located in the Bu Lao Hot Spring area, is in bloom throughout the year. Visitors can enjoy hot springs while admiring the flowers, and the park is also equipped with luxurious glamping tents to experience nature and rejuvenate the body and mind. The Bu Lao Hot Spring is classified as a bicarbonate spring, with a water temperature of 52°C and a pH value of approximately 7.2. It is a high-quality bicarbonate spring famous for its colorless and transparent water. Its mild spring quality softens the skin, making it smooth after bathing, and it is also referred to as the "Beauty Spring" or "Beauty Skin Spring." In 2009, the Morakot disaster caused damage to the hot spring source. With strong support from the Kaohsiung City Government, a successful hot spring well was drilled in January 2017 behind Bu Lao Junior High School, and the sourced hot spring was channeled into the Bu Lao Flower Viewing Hot Spring Park. The Kaohsiung City Government invested funds to renovate the park, which reopened in 2020, upgrading the hot spring facilities and adding changing rooms, SPA pools, and other new amenities for visitor convenience. Additionally, there is a night hot spring pool that operates year-round. The Bu Lao Flower Viewing Hot Spring Park covers an area of 5.4 hectares, surrounded by mountains and planted with 1,370 blooming trees, including purple orchid trees, Kawazu cherry trees, jacarandas, and silk floss trees. The park showcases colorful flower seas year-round, with different flowers blooming in spring, summer, autumn, and winter. In March and April, the purple orchid trees bloom extensively, attracting many visitors to experience the delightful ambiance of hand and foot baths amidst a burst of flowers. The area surrounding the hot springs is planned as a camping zone, offering luxurious tents, self-pitched tents, and RV facilities, allowing visitors to camp under flowering trees and wake up to the sounds of chirping insects and singing birds. Furthermore, the park has added urban adventure exploration facilities, offering various high-altitude experiences for thrill-seekers and adventurers. Visitors are welcome to enter this forested area to breathe in the fresh air and create unique travel memories filled with hot springs, camping, and adventure in nature.
