Dahu Tomato Company Introduction
Located next to Provincial Highway 1 in Dahu Village, the Dahu Tomato Company was constructed during the Japanese colonial period and was co-managed by Taiwan and Japan. All tomatoes produced at that time were exclusively for export. After World War II, it was briefly converted into a canned pineapple factory, but has since been abandoned. A century-old flamboyant tree has been planted in the derelict factory area, and each year its red flowers bloom vibrantly. Although it stands silently, it complements the weathered old chimney, with its bright colors adorning the red brick gray walls, creating a unique sense of solitude and beauty. This scene often attracts travelers to pause for admiration and photography, making it one of Dahu's hidden cultural and leisurely tourist spots.
