Dahu Tomato Company Introduction
Located next to Provincial Highway No. 1 in Dahu Village, the Dahu Tomato Company was built during the Japanese colonial period and was a joint venture between Taiwan and Japan, where all the tomatoes produced at the time were solely for export. After World War II, it was temporarily converted into a pineapple canning factory but has been abandoned ever since. In the neglected factory area, a century-old Royal Poinciana tree has been planted, which blooms in bright red every year. Though it stands silently, it accentuates the weathered old chimney with its vibrant color, turning the red flowers into a striking contrast against the gray brick wall. This beautiful yet lonely setting often attracts travelers to stop, admire, and take photos, making it one of Dahu's hidden cultural travel spots.
