Dahu Tomato Company Introduction
The Dahu Tomato Company, located beside Provincial Highway No. 1 in Dahu Village, was built during the Japanese rule and was jointly operated by Taiwan and Japan to produce tomatoes exclusively for export. After World War II, it was temporarily converted into a pineapple canning factory but was subsequently abandoned. In the abandoned factory area, a century-old Delonix regia tree has been planted, and every year its flowers bloom in vibrant red. Although silently standing and emphasizing the weathered old chimney, the striking red contrasts beautifully with the gray brick walls, creating a sense of solitary beauty that often attracts travelers to stop, appreciate, and take photos. This place has become another pocket destination for exploring Dahu or a light cultural travel experience.
