Dahu Tomato Company Introduction
Located beside Provincial Highway 1 in Dahu District, the Dahu Tomato Company was established during the Japanese colonial period and was a joint venture between Taiwan and Japan that only produced tomatoes for export. After World War II, it was briefly converted into a pineapple canning factory before being abandoned. In the abandoned factory area, there is a century-old Royal Poinciana tree that blossoms with vibrant red flowers every year. Although it stands silently, it highlights the remnants of an old chimney and decorates the red brick and gray walls, creating a unique sense of lonely beauty that often attracts travelers to stop, admire, and take photos, making it one of the pocket spots for cultural light travel or scenic exploration in Dahu.
