Dahu Tomato Company Introduction
Located next to Provincial Highway 1 in Dahu Village, the Dahu Tomato Company was built during the Japanese colonial period and was a joint venture between Taiwan and Japan, producing tomatoes exclusively for export. After World War II, it was briefly converted into a pineapple canning factory, but has since been abandoned. In the derelict factory area, a century-old Delonix regia has been planted, blooming with bright red flowers each year. Although it stands silently beside the weathered old chimney, the vibrant red blossoms contrast beautifully against the brick and gray walls, creating a sense of solitary beauty that often lures travelers to pause, admire, and take photos. It has become one of the pocket attractions for those seeking serenity or cultural light travel in Dahu.
