Saint Teresa of Lisieux Church Introduction
Saint Therese Church is the main pilgrimage site of the Catholic Hsinchu Diocese, also known as Xincheng Cathedral. Saint Therese is a Spanish Catholic saint, revered by Catholics around the world, with many churches named after her. Looking up, the large statue of Saint Therese outside the church reflects the compassion and salvation spirit of the church! Ascending to the sanctuary on the second floor, the windows are all made of stained glass, and the afternoon sunlight streaming in casts a variety of golden colors on the glass. Strolling along the small path outside the church, one can see the solemn and benevolent statue of the Virgin Mary. As you walk closer, Jesus, who suffered for humanity, is depicted nailed to the cross, standing between heaven and earth. Along the pathway, stone slabs depict the 15 Stations of the Cross, vividly bringing the scenes to mind.
