St. Therese Church Introduction
The St. Therese Church is the main pilgrimage site of the Catholic Diocese of Hsinchu, also known as the New City Cathedral. St. Therese is a Spanish Catholic saint, admired by Catholic believers worldwide, and there are churches named after Therese in various places. Looking up, the massive statue of St. Therese outside the church conveys the church's spirit of mercy and salvation! Ascending to the sanctuary on the second floor of the church, all the windows are made of stained glass, with the afternoon sunlight streaming in, casting a golden hue across the glass. Strolling along the small path outside the church, one can see the solemn and compassionate statue of the Virgin Mary, and as you walk closer, the figure of Jesus, crucified for humanity, stands tall between heaven and earth. Along the path, stone slabs depict the 15 Stations of the Cross, vividly recalling the Passion of Christ.
