St. Therese Church Introduction
The St. Therese Church, known as the main pilgrimage site of the Catholic Hsinchu Diocese, is also referred to as the Hsincheng Church. St. Therese is a Spanish Catholic saint revered by Catholics around the world, and many Catholic churches bear her name. Looking up, the large statue of St. Therese outside the church conveys the church's compassionate mission to save souls. Ascending to the second floor of the church’s sanctuary, the windows are all adorned with stained glass, and as the afternoon sunlight streams in, the glass displays a variety of golden hues. Strolling along the small path outside the church, one can see the solemn and compassionate statue of the Virgin Mary. As you approach, there stands Jesus, suffering on the cross for humanity, positioned between heaven and earth. Along the path, stones are engraved with 15 stations of the Passion, vividly illustrating the story.
