St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Church Introduction
The St. Therese of Lisieux Church is the main pilgrimage site of the Catholic Diocese of Hsinchu, also known as the Hsincheng Catholic Church. St. Therese is a Spanish Catholic saint, revered by Catholics around the world, and there are many churches named after Therese globally. Looking up, the giant statue of St. Therese outside the church expresses the church's spirit of mercy and salvation! Ascending to the second floor of the church, the sanctuary features windows made entirely of stained glass, allowing the afternoon sunlight to stream in, illuminating the glass with various golden hues. Strolling along the small pathway outside the church, one can see the solemn and compassionate statue of the Virgin Mary, and as one approaches, the figure of Jesus, who suffered for humanity, is depicted nailed to the cross, standing amid heaven and earth. Along the path, stone slabs illustrate 15 stations of the Passion, vividly recalling the moments.
