Baicangyi Introduction
The author’s statement: There’s an ancient saying: "Rotten wood cannot be carved." As a child picking up rotten wood in the deep mountains and countryside, I observed that with careful attention, rotten wood can quickly transform into a unique form of artistic expression that embodies traditional rustic beauty while also having a modern aesthetic. The saying "rotten wood cannot be carved" does not apply to me at all; while others treat rotten wood as trash, I see it as treasure. The rooftop of my home is my treasure trove of rotten wood, where casually picking up a piece becomes a one-of-a-kind work of celestial carving. Everyone has their own aesthetic viewpoint, and by treating uniquely shaped rotten wood with high-pressure water treatment, it becomes a work of art sculpted by nature, showcasing my distinctive vision. My insistence on not using a chisel or axe on the rotten wood is my commitment to art.
