Guandu Wharf Introduction
Guandu, originally named Gandoumen, is backed by Guanyin Mountain and Datun Mountain, facing the Tamsui River, making it a strategically located port. Early settlers entered northern Taiwan through Guandu Wharf for cultivation, leading to the early development of Guandu. However, due to sediment accumulation at the river mouths of Keelung River and Tamsui River, water transportation gradually declined. Guandu Wharf is located next to Guandu Nature Park and Guandu Temple. On holidays or at night, visitors can often be seen strolling and resting around Guandu Wharf. Many cyclists also come from Bali across the Guandu Bridge or from Tamsui, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way, making it an excellent spot for sightseeing.
