Guandu Bridge Introduction

Guandu Bridge is an important transportation hub connecting Bali District in New Taipei City and Guandu in Taipei City, located about 6 kilometers from the mouth of the Tamsui River. Before the opening of the Tamkang Bridge, it was the last bridge before the Tamsui River flowed into the sea. Guandu Bridge is the first fully welded steel arch bridge in Asia, spanning a length of 809 meters, with a road width of 14.5 meters containing four lanes. The bridge was completed and opened in 1983, significantly shortening the travel time between Bali, Wugu, and Tamsui, as well as Beitou. Its parabolic red steel arch design has also made Guandu Bridge a well-known landmark on the Tamsui River.
