Guandu Nature Park Introduction
Guandu Nature Park is located at the confluence of the Tamsui River and the Keelung River, and has been an important habitat for migratory birds since ancient times. After more than a decade of efforts by conservationists, Guandu Nature Park was established in 1996. Since December 1, 2001, the park has been managed by the Taipei City Government in collaboration with the Taipei Wild Bird Society. The main purpose of Guandu Nature Park is to conserve the wetland environment of Guandu, restore the wetland landscape, reclaim the indigenous nature of Guandu wetland, and educate the public about it. To enhance public understanding of wetlands, the park frequently organizes a variety of environmental education activities and exhibitions, such as themed exhibitions, weekend lectures, parent-child DIY workshops, and camps, and assists schools in conducting diverse environmental education activities like station-based interpretations and outdoor teaching. In addition to preserving the natural wetland environment, it also offers citizens and tourists a great place to experience nature and enjoy leisure time on weekends.
