Guandu Nature Park Introduction
Guandu Nature Park is located at the confluence of the Tamsui River and Keelung River, and has been an important habitat for migratory birds since ancient times. After over a decade of efforts by conservationists, Guandu Nature Park was established in 1996. Since December 1, 2001, the park has been managed by the Taipei City Government in collaboration with the Taipei Wild Bird Society. The primary objectives of Guandu Nature Park are to conserve the wetland environment of Guandu, restore the landscape of the Guandu wetlands, revive the native culture of the area, and educate the public about the significance of wetlands. To enhance public understanding of wetlands, the park frequently hosts a variety of environmental education activities and exhibitions, such as themed exhibitions, weekend lectures, parent-child DIY classes, and camps. Additionally, it assists schools in providing diverse environmental education through guided tours and outdoor teaching. Aside from preserving the natural wetland environment, it also offers citizens and tourists a great place to experience nature and enjoy leisure activities on weekends.
