Beitou Refuse Incineration Plant Observation Deck Introduction
Beitou Incineration Plant was established on July 1, 1991, originally named Shilin Incineration Plant. On July 1, 1995, due to the reclassification of its location to Beitou District, it was renamed Beitou Incineration Plant and is under the jurisdiction of the Environmental Protection Bureau of Taipei City Government. The observation deck is located at the height of 116 meters on the painted smokestack tower of the incineration plant and can be reached by taking a transparent sightseeing elevator from the entrance on the first floor. The observation deck features a large floor-to-ceiling window area with a 360-degree view, allowing visitors to gaze at the Yangming, Guanyin, and Datun mountain ranges, as well as the islands of Shōhō nestled between the Tamsui and Keelung rivers. Looking down, one can see the vast mountain rivers and the green plains of the Guandu Plain. The sunset at Guanyin in the evening and the dazzling night view can be enjoyed in their entirety, making it a famous sightseeing spot in Taipei City, complete with informative displays comparing the actual sights.
