Beitou Garbage Incineration Plant Observation Deck Introduction

The Beitou Incineration Plant was established on July 1, 1991, originally named the Shilin Incineration Plant. On July 1, 1995, it was renamed Beitou Incineration Plant after the plant's location was reclassified to the Beitou District and is operated by the Taipei City Government Environmental Protection Bureau. The observation deck is located at a height of 116 meters on the painted chimney tower of the incineration plant and can be reached by taking a transparent scenic elevator from the first floor entrance. The observation deck features large floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a 360-degree view, allowing visitors to gaze at the Yangming, Guanyin, and Datun mountain ranges, as well as the islands of Shezi, squeezed between the Tamsui and Keelung rivers. Looking down, one can also see the expansive landscape of mountains, wetlands, and the lush Guandu Plain. During the evening, the sunset over Guanyin and the dazzling night scene can be fully appreciated, making it a popular viewing spot in Taipei City. The interior of the building includes informative displays for comparison with actual scenic spots.
