Beitou Incineration Plant Observation Deck Introduction

The Beitou Incineration Plant was established on July 1, 1991, originally named Shilin Incineration Plant. On July 1, 1995, it was renamed Beitou Incineration Plant due to the reallocation of its site to the Beitou District and is operated under the Taipei City Government Environmental Protection Bureau. The observation deck is located at the top of the painted chimney tower, which stands 116 meters tall and can be reached by taking the transparent scenic elevator from the first-floor entrance. The observation deck features large floor-to-ceiling windows offering a 360-degree view, allowing visitors to enjoy views of the Yangmingshan, Guanyin, and Datun mountain ranges, as well as the confluence of the Tamsui and Keelung rivers with Shazih Island nestled in between. Looking down, one can see the vast landscape of mountains and waterways, the verdant Guandu Plain, and during the evening, the sunset over Guanyin. The sparkling night view is also stunning, making it a renowned sightseeing spot in Taipei City, complete with informational displays that contrast with the actual sights.
