Beitou Garbage Incineration Plant Observation Deck Introduction
Beitou Incineration Plant was established on July 1, 1991, originally named Shilin Incineration Plant. On July 1, 1995, it was renamed Beitou Incineration Plant after the site was reassigned to the Beitou District, under the jurisdiction of the Environmental Protection Bureau of Taipei City Government. The observation deck is located at a height of 116 meters on the painted chimney tower of the incineration plant, accessible via a transparent scenic elevator from the first floor entrance. The observation deck features a spacious floor with 360-degree floor-to-ceiling windows, offering a distant view of the Yangming, Guanyin, and Datun mountain ranges, as well as the confluence of the Tamsui and Keelung rivers surrounding Shezi Island. Looking down, one can see the expansive mountains, waterways, and the lush Guandu Plain. The sunset at Guanyin and the dazzling night scenes can all be enjoyed from this notable viewpoint in Taipei City, which also provides informational displays comparing the actual sights.
