Beitou Incineration Plant Viewing Platform Introduction
Beitou Incineration Plant was established on July 1, 1991, originally named Shilin Incineration Plant. On July 1, 1995, it was renamed Beitou Incineration Plant due to the relocation of its site to the Beitou District, and it is administered by the Taipei City Government’s Environmental Protection Bureau. The observation deck is located at the top of the colorful smokestack tower of the incineration plant, which stands at 116 meters tall and can be reached by taking a transparent scenic elevator from the first-floor entrance. The observation deck features large floor-to-ceiling windows offering a 360-degree view, where visitors can gaze upon the Yangming, Guanyin, and Datun mountain ranges, as well as admire the confluence of the Tamsui and Keelung rivers with Sheci Island nestled between them. Looking down, one can see a vast expanse of mountains, rivers, and the verdant Guandu Plain. The sunset over Guanyin and the breathtaking night scenery are all visible from here, making it a renowned scenic location in Taipei City, and the floor includes informational displays that correspond with the actual sights.
