Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center Introduction
The Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center is an exhibition and performance venue located in Taipei, operated by the National Center for Traditional Arts. It hosts the Guoguang Opera Company, the National Chinese Orchestra Taiwan, and the Taiwan Music Center, making it the first professional theater in Taiwan with resident performing companies. It serves multiple purposes, including arts performances, arts education, and cultural recreation. The architectural style combines simplicity with the infinite possibilities of traditional theatre aesthetics, transforming traditional elements like "one table and two chairs" into a modern, classic design, actively exploring contemporary meanings in traditional performances. The Taiwan Traditional Theatre Center is committed to revitalizing the industry ecosystem, considering itself "the home of traditional performing arts teams," providing strong support to these teams with comprehensive production resources, high-quality facilities, and professional services backstage and front of house. The center features two professional theaters, a large and a small auditorium, the 3102 multi-functional hall, an international conference hall, audiovisual rooms, as well as open spaces like an outdoor plaza and a traditional theatre platform. The diverse and flexible spaces provide the best stage for traditional performing arts teams, allowing them to focus on their performances and bringing audiences spectacular audiovisual enjoyment.
