Songshan Fongtian Temple Introduction

In 1953, local gentry and elders in Songshan, including Wen Jin-bo and Liu Yong-hao, raised funds to build a bamboo hut to worship the Jade Emperor as the main deity, naming it "Songshan Fengtian Temple." In 1959, the Yongji Road Kai'an Temple was established as a branch of the An Temple from Baolong Township, Yunlin County, and due to its popularity, the locals decided to merge the deities of both temples and planned an expansion at the current site. Songshan Fengtian Temple is located on Hushan in the Four Beasts Mountain, adjacent to the city government and Xinyi shopping district, with a distant view of Datun, Qixing, Shamao, and Guanyin mountains. The Hushan Trail in the Four Beasts Mountain is a vital route for citizens hiking to the temple, creating a lively marketplace that meets the needs of hikers and nearby residents. Perched high above, it offers a spectacular view of the cityscape and beautiful scenery. This place provides tranquility amid the hustle and bustle, making it an excellent spot for citizens to relax and reflect while hiking. (Source: Songshan Fengtian Temple Official Website)
