Songshan Railway Station Introduction
Songshan Railway Station is one of the oldest railway stations in Taiwan. It was established during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty as part of the first railway line from Keelung to Hsinchu, where Songshan initially served as a simple ticket office. The development of the Songshan area began early, as it was originally a settlement of the Ketagalan Plain indigenous people, specifically the Malyan tribe, and was formerly known as "Dajianasikou Street." In the thirteenth year of Guangxu (1887), the tickets used were replaced by Longma postage stamps. During the Japanese colonial period, in the ninth year of Taisho, Dajianasikou Street was renamed to Songshan Village in Qixing District, Taipei Prefecture, and "Xikou Station" was renamed to "Songshan Station."
