Songshan Railway Station Introduction

Songshan Railway Station is one of the oldest train stations in Taiwan. It was established during the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty as a simple ticket office for the first railway line from Keelung to Hsinchu. The development of the Songshan area began early, originally being a settlement of the Ketagalan people, specifically the Mao Li Yi Ho tribe, and the old place name was "Dajia Nasih Kou Street." In the 13th year of Guangxu (1887), the tickets used were replaced by dragon-horse postage stamps. During the Japanese colonial period, in the ninth year of Taisho, Dajia Nasih Kou Street was renamed Songshan Village, Qixing County, Taipei Prefecture, and "Nasih Kou Station" was renamed "Songshan Station."
