Songshan Railway Station Introduction
Songshan Railway Station is one of the oldest train stations in Taiwan. It was initially established during the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty as a simple ticket office for the first railway line from Keelung to Hsinchu. The development of the Songshan area began early, originally a settlement of the Kavalan people, specifically the Mao-li Yi-ho community, with its old name being "Dajianashikou Street." In the 13th year of Guangxu (1887), the tickets used were substitute dragon horse postage stamps. During the Japanese colonial period in the 9th year of Taisho, Dajianashikou Street was renamed Songshan Village in Qixing County, Taipei Prefecture, and the "Shikou Station" was renamed "Songshan Station."
