Qianshan Park Introduction

Qianshan Park is located in the Yangmingshan area, adjacent to the east side of Shamaoshan, the Yangmingshan Bus Terminal, and the Teacher Training Center. It is an important tourist destination in the suburbs of Taipei, covering an area of approximately 38,328 square meters. Qianshan Park features a rich landscape, displaying not only Shamaoshan and Qixingshan but also a stream introduced during the Japanese occupation that flows through the park from the hillside west of Zhongshan Pavilion at the foot of Qixingshan, converging to form Yangming Lake, which reflects the beauty of Qixingshan. The lakeside has free public bathhouses for men and women, making it a favorite spot for the public, ideal for cherry blossom viewing in spring, summer heat relief, autumn gatherings, and maple viewing in winter. Qianshan Park No. 4 is designed based on the rounded volcanic shape of Shamaoshan, utilizing wisteria flowers that thrive in Yangmingshan to create a landscape that echoes the shape of Shamaoshan, with a green hill serving as a new entrance image for Yangmingshan. When the wisteria blooms, visitors can indulge in the romantic purple scenery. Qianshan Park No. 3 is located in Lane 38, Section 1 of Yangming Road, where the blooming cherry and azalea flowers create a paradise away from the dust of the city. Qianshan Park No. 1 - Panliu Area is situated next to the Teacher Training Center, featuring a renovated heart-shaped pond, a shaded rest area by the dense moonlight lake, footbath areas, several mountain spring channels, and the intertwining of volcanic rock and the Panliu Garden, where the scenic stones along the stream have been specially supervised by Japan's national treasure stone mason, Oguchi Motoharu, to create a harmonious display of old and new rocks, allowing visitors to enjoy the beautiful scenery of mountains and water. Qianshan Park No. 2 - Yangming Lake Area, across the road from the Panliu Area, sees the stream flowing beneath Shamao Bridge and converging into a lake. In addition to renovating the free public bathhouses for men and women, two new footbath areas have been added, allowing visitors to soak their feet while admiring the beautiful reflections of Shamaoshan in the lake and the unique phenomenon of water lilies blooming in winter. Along Shamao Road by the lakeside, elongated basalt stone benches have been installed, providing a place to rest and enjoy the magnificent mountain shapes of Penglai Island and Qixingshan in the lake. This renovation project restores the edge of Yangming Lake to a natural pond appearance, with grass and stones gradually extending into the water. New saplings of green maple and cherry blossoms by the lake further enhance the natural elegance, while the sediment-dredged waters of Yangming Lake present a rare dream blue lake landscape in Taiwan, composing a symphonic chapter between mountains and waters.
