Qianshan Park Introduction
Qianshan Park is located in the Yangmingshan area, adjacent to the eastern side of Shamaoshan, the Yangmingshan Bus Station, and the Teacher Training Center. It is an important tourist destination in the suburbs of Taipei, covering an area of approximately 38,328 square meters. The park boasts a rich landscape, featuring views of Shamaoshan and Qixing Mountain. During the Japanese occupation, a stream running down the slopes on the west side of the Zhongshan Pavilion at the foot of Qixing Mountain was introduced into the park. The stream eventually converges into Yangming Lake, reflecting the beautiful scenery of Qixing Mountain. Additionally, there are free gender-segregated public bathhouses by the lakeside, making this area very popular among the public, serving as a perfect spot for cherry blossom viewing in spring, summer retreats, autumn gatherings, and maple leaf watching in winter. Qianshan No. 4 Park is designed based on the conical shape of the volcanic landform of Shamaoshan, utilizing wisteria flowers that grow well in Yangmingshan to create a landscape that corresponds to the shape of Shamaoshan. A green hill serves as the new entrance imagery for Yangmingshan. When the wisteria blooms, walking through its beauty evokes romantic purple scenery. Qianshan No. 3 Park is located within Lane 38, Section 1 of Yangming Road. When the cherry blossoms and azaleas blossom in the park, it resembles a paradise far from the dust of the city. Qianshan No. 1 Park - the Panliu Area is situated next to the Teacher Training Center. It features a renovated heart-shaped pond and a shaded rest area at the Bi Yue Lake, along with several mountain spring water channels and a white sulfur hot spring water channel interwoven with the volcanic rocks of Yangmingshan. The scenic rocks by the stream have been designed with guidance from Japan's national treasure-level stone masonry master, Kijirou Oguchi, to enhance the interplay between old and new rocks, allowing visitors to appreciate the beautiful mountain and forest scenery. Qianshan No. 2 Park - the Yangming Lake Area is located across the street next to the Panliu Area. The stream flows under the Shamao Bridge and converges into the lake here. In addition to renovating the free gender-segregated public bathhouses, two new foot-soaking pools have been added, allowing visitors to soak their feet while enjoying the beautiful reflections of Shamaoshan in the lake, as well as the unique sight of water lilies blooming in winter. Along Shamao Road by the lakeside, there are elongated basalt rock benches where people can rest and admire the grandeur of Penglai Island and Qixing Mountain. The recent restoration project has returned the shoreline of Yangming Lake to its natural pool appearance, with grass and stones gently extending into the water. New saplings of green maple and cherry blossoms along the lake further emphasize the natural charm. After dredging, the water of Yangming Lake exhibits a rare dreamy blue color, composing a symphony between the mountains and the water.
