Qianshan Park Introduction
Qian Shan Park is located in the Yangmingshan area, adjacent to the eastern side of Shamao Mountain, the Yangmingshan bus terminal, and the Teacher Training Center. It is an important tourist attraction in the outskirts of Taipei City, covering an area of approximately 38,328 square meters. The park offers a rich landscape, including views of Shamao Mountain and Qixing Mountain. During the Japanese occupation period, a stream originating from the hillside west of Zhongshan Pavilion at the foot of Qixing Mountain was introduced, flowing through the park and converging into Yangming Lake, where the beautiful scenery of Qixing Mountain is reflected. There are also free public bathing facilities for men and women by the lakeside, making it a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing in spring, summer retreats, autumn gatherings, and maple viewing in winter. Qian Shan No. 4 Park is designed based on the rounded volcanic body of Shamao Mountain, utilizing wisteria that grows well in Yangmingshan to create a landscape that echoes the shape of Shamao Mountain. A green hill serves as the new entrance imagery for Yangmingshan, and when the wisteria blooms, visitors can immerse themselves in a romantic sea of purple. Qian Shan No. 3 Park, located within Alley 38 of Section 1, Yangming Road, becomes an idyllic paradise when the cherry blossoms and azaleas are in full bloom, seemingly far removed from the dust of the city. Qian Shan No. 1 Park - Panliu Area is situated next to the Teacher Training Center and features a renovated heart-shaped pool, a shaded resting area called Biyue Lake, foot bath areas, several mountain spring waterways, and the intertwining Panliu Garden with Yangmingshan's volcanic rocks. The design of scenic rocks along the stream was particularly guided by Japan's national treasure-level stone mason, Koji Oguchi, to create a harmonious contrast between old and new rocks, allowing visitors to appreciate the beauty of the mountain, forest, and water. Qian Shan No. 2 Park - Yangming Lake Area, located just across the road from the Panliu area, has a stream flowing under Shamao Bridge, converging into the lake. In addition to the renovation of free public bathing facilities for men and women, two new foot bath areas have been added, allowing visitors to soak their feet while enjoying the beautiful reflections of Shamao Mountain in the lake and the unique scene of water lilies blooming in winter. Along Shamao Road, stone seating with volcanic rock has been installed by the lakeside, providing a place for people to rest and admire the stunning scenery of Penglai Island and the majestic silhouette of Qixing Mountain. This redevelopment project restored the edge of Yangming Lake to a natural pool appearance, with grass and stones gently extending into the water. New green maple and cherry trees by the lake enhance the natural elegance. After dredging, the lake now presents a rare dreamlike blue water landscape in Taiwan, composing a symphony of mountains and water.
