Yangmingshan National Park Introduction
Yangmingshan National Park is the closest national park to the metropolitan area in Taiwan. It features diverse topography and rich ecology, nurturing many precious conserved animals. If you're lucky, you may spot the endemic bird species of Taiwan – the Formosan Blue Magpie. The park is filled with various flowers such as plum, cherry, peach, apricot, azalea, and camellia. Every spring, the cherry blossoms bloom, attracting many visitors to hike up to enjoy the flowers. After the cherry blossom season, around mid-March, the calla lilies in Zhuzihu begin to bloom, allowing visitors to experience the fun of flower picking and take a bouquet of calla lilies home, becoming a must-do activity for tourists. A highlight of the park is a flower clock composed of various seasonal flowers; you must take a photo here when visiting Yangmingshan! Besides the flower clock, popular spots in Yangmingshan include Xiaoyoukeng, Yangming Shuwu, Lengshuikeng, and Qingtiangang. If you enjoy hiking, these spots are not to be missed. Additionally, the area around Yangmingshan is rich in geothermal resources, with different qualities of hot springs. The Beitou area, especially around Xingyi Road, is populated with hot spring restaurants, so if you pass by, don't forget to enjoy the unique sulfur hot springs here! In spring, enjoy the flowers; in summer, cool down; in autumn, experience the silver grass and maple leaves; and in winter, relax in the hot springs.
