Shuangcheng Street Night Market Introduction
Shuangcheng Street Night Market is home to many long-established stalls, offering snacks that have been sold for over 30 years. The delicious food has spread by word of mouth, attracting many returning visitors, rain or shine. Although the night market is not large, its neatly arranged orange-red signs and orderliness have made it the first regional demonstration night market in Taipei. Additionally, with several pubs nearby, international friends often visit as well. The business at these stalls is surprisingly good—one must come to experience it. The tasty Chiayi chicken rice is delicious and goes well with rice; the authentic poached goose meat, with fragrant goose broth, satisfies even the most discerning palate; the braised pork rice is also well-known, with Huang's Braised Pork Rice winning accolades in Taipei’s braised pork rice competition, making it just as tasty. The braised pork, simmered with pork knuckles and trotters, is rich in flavor yet not greasy. Lastly, don’t forget the desserts here—Grandma's traditional rice noodles and aiyu jelly are nostalgic Taiwanese snacks that are surprisingly delicious!
