FreeS Art Space Introduction
The Taiwan Visual Arts Association (Vision Alliance) and Hantu Society (1998) have been like a group of nomadic tribes riding on horseback for many years, without a base and unbound, driven by their ambition for art. They have battled in art museums, galleries, and art spaces both domestically and internationally. They are also dedicated to developing, integrating, and overseeing the existing resources in the visual arts environment. Now, a moment of change is upon us; it is time for the nomadic tribes to settle down. We have made a forward-looking decision together – "to have our own home," continuing our efforts for the artistic environment. "Having our own home" is just the beginning; we need everyone's support for growth, to keep working for the visual arts environment, and to write a new chapter in history in the future. The space has been jointly named "FreeS Welfare Society" by Hantu Society and Vision Alliance. It can be interpreted in various ways as "a freely shared soul, space, and studio, etc." Hantu Society and Vision Alliance will uphold the original intention of serving art citizens and giving back to the art environment. In addition to planning their own exhibitions, they will open most of the schedule for artists and curators to apply. We hope to showcase more innovative art and exhibition ideas through this space and aspire to promote in-depth discussions about art among Taiwan's new generation of artists, opening up artistic perspectives and fostering creative trends, thereby expanding artistic dialogue and exchange.
