Zhi Lan Park Sea View Platform Introduction
Located at the 16-kilometer mark of the Danjin Highway on Taiwan's Route 2, the Zhilan Park Seaside Viewing Platform beside the Shuangwan Bicycle Path in Sanzi District was originally built in 1992. It features a dual-layer structure with a foundation and platform, standing approximately 3 meters tall. The platform connects to the nearby park walkway and Shallow Bay Beach, making it a popular summer leisure destination on the North Coast in the past, as well as a favored spot for wedding photography. However, due to long-term coastal erosion, it was dismantled in 2015. In recent years, after assessment by a professional team, the focus was placed on durability and safety for the reconstruction on the original site, retaining the base of the seaside platform. With collaboration from both central and local authorities, local artist Hu Dongmin and environmental aesthetics consultant Chen Junliang were invited to design an internationally-class seaside sunset viewing platform, standing about 3 meters tall and extending approximately 43 meters long, creating a romantic venue for visitors to stroll on the beautiful platform and enjoy the stunning evening glow of the North Coast under the gentle sea breeze.
