Zhilan Park Seaside Viewing Platform Introduction
The Zhilan Park Offshore Viewing Platform, known as the "most beautiful runway on the North Coast," was completed in August 2021, welcoming visitors with a brand new appearance. Travelers can walk along the water-blue wave corridor, as if stepping into the sea, enjoying a 360-degree unobstructed view of the stunning ocean scenery and sunset glow, complemented by the romantic installation art at the platform's end, making it a must-visit spot for couples and tourists. The Zhilan Park Offshore Viewing Platform was originally a famous tourist attraction in Sanjhih; however, it was closed for many years after being identified as a dangerous building due to severe erosion. The newly rebuilt offshore viewing platform is constructed on top of the original platform’s base, featuring a 57-meter long water-blue corridor. At the end of the corridor is an oversized sparkling wedding ring, created by local artists and a professional team from the city government. The installation art, symbolizing the meaning of "destiny," "unity," and "form," is inspired by the ocean's dominant color, echoing the majestic sea views with a dynamic shape that adds beautiful scenery to the North Coast. The rebuilt offshore viewing platform connects to the Zhilan Park trail, allowing visitors to walk along the path for about 5 minutes to the Shallow Water Bay Coastal Park, where they can enjoy splashing in the water and have a leisurely time during the hot summer days. They can also relax in a café, listening to the sea and enjoying afternoon tea, capturing the beautiful scenery of the North Coast’s morning and evening views. Alternatively, they can connect various romantic spots along the North Coast for a sweet journey with their partners, which includes "the Love Boat at Baliao, the Lover's Bridge in Tamsui, the Offshore Platform in Sanjhih, and the Happiness Bell in Shimen."
