Dali Ginkgo King Temple Introduction

The main body of the giant tree is the Indian Mulberry tree. There is a local legend about the Jiaqing Emperor's visit to Taiwan, which tells that while he was passing by this giant tree, he was attacked by bandits, but a man in red descended from the tree and repelled the enemies. Another version of the story states that the Jiaqing Emperor took shelter from the rain under this tree, which is why it is worshipped as "Tree King." Due to its thick foliage resembling an umbrella, it is also known as "Umbrella Tree King."
