Dali Fig King Temple Introduction

The main body of the large tree is a Ficus tree. There is a local folktale about Emperor Jiaqing's travels in Taiwan, which tells that during his journey, when he was attacked by bandits near this tree, a mysterious figure dressed in red descended from the tree to fend off the enemies. Another version of the story mentions that Emperor Jiaqing once took shelter from the rain under this tree, which led to it being revered as "Tree King." Due to its dense foliage resembling an umbrella, it is also known as "Umbrella Tree King."
