National Chung Hsing University Bridge Introduction
The Han River Pedestrian Scenic Bridge is an important facility for the overall environmental improvement of the Han River drainage system. It measures 48 meters in length and 4.5 meters in width, designed to mimic the shape of the River Cam at Cambridge University, constructed with stone and simulated wooden materials, and features night景观 lighting. It provides a continuous leisure pathway for residents of Dali District and the Southern District, enhancing the riverside characteristics and local highlights. The National Chung Hsing University Cam Bridge is located on the Han River behind the university and was built as part of the Cam Bridge project planned by the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Water Resources Agency. The aim is to create a recreational waterway comparable to England's Cam River, offering citizens a waterfront attraction. This area includes a flood retention park, bicycle paths, resting platforms, activity squares, artificial wetlands, and scenic bridges, integrating natural ecology, energy-saving, carbon reduction, and community participation concepts to create a multifunctional, high-quality environment around the water area, enhancing the aesthetics and vitality of regional drainage. Walking, exercising, fishing, picnicking, kayaking, and enjoying street performances... the beautiful riverside Cam Bridge has become an indispensable stress-relief space for the surrounding residents.
