National Chung Hsing University Bridge Introduction
The Hanjin River Pedestrian Scenic Bridge is an important facility for the overall environmental improvement of the Hanjin River drainage system. It is 48 meters long and 4.5 meters wide, designed to resemble the Cam River in Cambridge, England. Constructed with stone and faux wood materials, it features night landscape lighting, providing residents of Dali District and the South District with a continuous leisure corridor while enhancing the riverside characteristics and local highlights. The Hsinchuang Cam River, located at the back of National Chung Hsing University on the Hanjin River, was built as part of the Cam River project planned by the Water Resources Agency of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The goal is to create a recreational river that can rival the Cam River in the UK, offering citizens a waterside attraction. The area is designed with a retention park, bicycle paths, rest platforms, event squares, artificial wetlands, and scenic bridges as recreational spaces, incorporating concepts of natural ecology, energy conservation, carbon reduction, and community participation to create a multifunctional high-quality environment around the water area, enhancing the aesthetic and vitality of regional drainage. Activities such as walking, exercising, fishing, picnicking, kayaking, and enjoying street performances make the beautiful riverside Cam River an indispensable stress relief space for local residents.
