Taiwan Matchstick Museum Introduction
The "Taiwan Match Story Museum" is an exhibition venue themed around matches, providing a detailed introduction to the history of match invention and the rise and fall of Taiwan's match industry. It showcases a variety of artifacts, including ignition devices, match containers, matchboxes from the Japanese colonial period, Taiwanese advertising matchboxes, foreign-imported matchboxes, as well as factory documents and employee uniforms. Additionally, the museum has borrowed items such as a matchstick printing press and a matchstick transport cart from the National Museum of Science and Technology. The diverse collection allows visitors to savor and appreciate the past, evoking memories of everyday life. This is an exploration space for both children and adults to discover the stories of matches, and families are warmly welcome to visit. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. On holidays: Group visits are available for groups of 20 or more with prior reservation, subject to approval for holiday visits.
