Taiwan Matchstick Story Museum Introduction
The "Taiwan Matchstick Story Museum" is an exhibition venue themed around matchsticks, providing a detailed introduction to the history of the invention of matches and the rise and fall of the match industry in Taiwan. It showcases a diverse collection of artifacts, including ignition tools, match-smoking implements, matchboxes from the Japanese colonial period, Taiwanese advertising matchboxes, imported foreign matchboxes, as well as factory documents and employee uniforms. The museum has also borrowed items such as matchstick printing machines and matchstick delivery carts from the National Museum of Natural Science. The diverse collection allows visitors to appreciate and savor the memories of the past, making it a space worth exploring for both children and adults interested in the stories of matchsticks. We welcome families to visit. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. On holidays: Group visits are allowed with prior reservation for groups of 20 or more, subject to approval for holiday visits.
