Taiwan Matchstick Story House Introduction
The "Taiwan Match Museum" is an exhibition venue themed around matches, providing a detailed introduction to the history of match invention and the rise and fall of the match industry in Taiwan. It showcases a diverse collection of artifacts, including lighting devices, match accessories, matchboxes from the Japanese colonial period, advertising matchboxes from Taiwan, imported matchboxes, as well as documents from match factories and employee uniforms. Additionally, the museum has specially borrowed from the National Museum of Science and Technology items such as match stick printing machines and match stick transport trolleys. The varied collection allows visitors to appreciate and reminisce about past lives, making it an exploration space for both children and adults to discover the story of matches. Families are welcome to visit. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Public holidays: Group visits of 20 or more can apply for appointments for holiday visits, subject to approval.
