The Wucuo Mazu Association, which is the main shrine of Mazu, is a necessary stop during the pilgrimage to Beigang. It is a form of Mazu Association based in Wucuo, Xiluo, and has positions such as president, vice president, and annual furnace master. The incense offerings of Mazu are derived from the Chaoxing Temple (Wucuo Mazu) within the settlement, and the pilgrimage to Chaoxing Temple to pay respects to the ancestors is a grand annual event.
