Wu-Cuo Chao-Hsing Temple Introduction
Wu Cuo Mazu is deeply rooted in local agricultural development and history. Although the settlement is named Wu Cuo, the Liao clan is the predominant family in the area. The center of worship, Zhao Xing Gong, is dedicated to Mazu, commonly referred to as Wu Cuo Mazu. The temple is said to have been established during the Qianlong period and is the second of the Seven Kancans of Xiluo. In recent years, efforts have been made to revive the tradition of "Seven Kancans Welcoming Mazu," with a pilgrimage spanning 25 villages.
