Wu Cuo Ma is a historical site that reflects local development. Although it is named Wu Cuo, the dominant surname in the settlement is Liao. The religious center, Chaoxing Temple, is dedicated to Mazu, commonly known as Wu Cuo Ma. The temple is said to have been established during the Qianlong period and is the second of the seven Kanh in Xiluo. In recent years, there has been an active revival of the "Qikan Welcoming Mazu" event, which involves a procession through the 25 villages of the seven Kanh.

Wu Cuo Mazu, rich in local development history, may be named Wu Cuo, but the predominant clan in the settlement is the Liao family. The center of belief, Chao Xing Temple, is dedicated to Ma Zu, commonly referred to as Wu Cuo Mazu. It is said that the temple was built during the Qianlong period and is the second embedded in the Xiluo Qikan.
