The Nanzi Community was originally a transit station for Taiwan Sugar Corporation for transporting sugarcane and passengers, primarily focused on sugar and agriculture. In 2013, through artists Liao Yao-Hsing and Liao Hui-Cun, 3D murals depicting the rural landscape and railway culture of the local Nanzi Community were painted, making the community vibrant and colorful.
