The Nanzai Community was originally a transfer station for Taiwan Sugar Corporation for transporting sugarcane and travelers. It is a community focused on the sugar and agricultural industries. In 2013, artists Liao Yao-hsing and Liao Hui-tsun painted 3D murals depicting the rural scenery and railway culture of the local Nanzai Community, making the community vibrant and colorful.
