Gouzao Zhenwu Temple Introduction
Gouzhao Zhandi Temple, also known as Gouzhao Zhenwu Temple, is dedicated to the North Polar Xuantian Emperor and the two generals Kang and Zhao (the Tortoise and Snake spirits). The temple was built in the early Qing Dynasty and has a history of over two hundred years. Gouzhao Village is primarily inhabited by the Cai family from Qingyang, and in the past, there were violent conflicts between the Wu and Cai families from Beigang; the temple's deity once manifested to aid the Cai family.
