Gouzao War God Temple, also known as Gouzao Zhenwu Temple, is dedicated to the North Polar Xuantian Emperor and the two generals, Kang and Zhao (the Tortoise and Snake spirits). The temple was established in the early Qing Dynasty and has a history of over 200 years. Gouzao Village is predominantly inhabited by the Cai family of Qingyang. In earlier years, there were conflicts between the Wu and Cai families from Beigang, during which the War God once manifested his divine powers to aid the Cai family.

Gouzao Zhenwu Temple Introduction

The Gouzao Zhan Shen Temple, also known as Gouzao Zhenwu Temple, venerates the North Polar Xuantian Emperor and the two generals Kong and Zhao (the two spirits of the turtle and snake). The temple was established in the early Qing dynasty and has a history of over two hundred years. Gouzao Township primarily has the Tsai family from Qingyang, and in the early years, there were conflicts between the Wu and Tsai families from Beigang. The deity has been known to manifest and assist the Tsai family.
