Wannian Park & Jianguo Bridge Stone Monkey Introduction
Crossing the Jianguo Bridge to Zili Road, a gigantic globe stands prominently at the intersection, facing the Wannian Creek, attracting everyone's attention from afar; this is the symbol of Wannian Park. The park is covered with green spaces like a lush green carpet, featuring several monkey bars and swings, as well as a stone walkway surrounding the park. Local residents often bring their children here for recreation and exercise. Inside the park, there are two artificial ponds of varying sizes, home to a variety of aquatic plants such as duckweed and lotus. A small bridge spans the larger pond, while the smaller pond has a wooden platform at its edge for close observation of the aquatic ecosystem. On the Jianguo Bridge, ten stone monkey sculptures each possess their unique charm and are intricately designed. They were carved by artists in 2004 to commemorate the 168th anniversary of the city of Aikou, conveying ten meanings: three gentlemen, longing, the aroma of bananas, conferred titles, stepping up, enjoyment, cuddling, back-to-back joy, warmth, and double happiness, embodying harmony and perfection.
