Wannian Park & Jianguo Bridge Stone Monkey Introduction
Crossing the Jianguo Bridge to Zili Road, a giant globe stands at the intersection, facing the Wannian Creek, attracting everyone's attention from afar. This is the symbol of Wannian Park. The park is filled with green spaces like a lush carpet, equipped with several pull-up bars and swings, along with a stone-paved path surrounding the park. Local residents often bring their children here to play and exercise. Inside the park, there are two artificial ponds of varying sizes, home to various aquatic plants such as water lilies and duckweed. A small bridge crosses the large pond, while a wooden platform is situated by the smaller pond, allowing close observation of the aquatic ecosystem. The ten stone monkey sculptures on the Jianguo Bridge are vivid and lifelike, crafted by artists in commemoration of the 168th anniversary of the founding of the city in 2004. They convey ten meanings: the three gentlemen, looking ahead, the scent of bananas, conferring titles, rising step by step, enjoyment, snuggling close, happiness of nurturing, warm-heartedness, and double happiness arriving, all rich in harmony and perfection.
