Wannian Park & Jianguo Bridge Stone Monkey Introduction

Walking across the Jianguo Bridge to Zili Road, a massive globe stands proudly at the intersection, facing the Wannian Stream, capturing everyone's attention from a distance. This is the symbol of Wannian Park. The park is covered with greenery resembling a lush carpet, featuring several horizontal bars and swings, along with a stone path around the park. Local residents often bring their children here for recreation and exercise. Within the park, there are two artificial ponds of varying sizes, planted with diverse aquatic plants such as duckweed and lotus flowers. A small bridge spans the larger pond, while a wooden platform is situated by the smaller pond, allowing close observation of the aquatic ecosystem. The ten stone monkey sculptures on Jianguo Bridge each have their unique expressions, intricately crafted by an artist in celebration of the 168th anniversary of Alishan Township’s establishment in 2004. They convey ten meanings: the three gentlemen, gazing, the fragrance of bananas, bestowing nobility, progressing step by step, enjoyment, intimacy, back-to-back joy, a warm heart, and double happiness arriving, symbolizing harmony and perfection.
