Banchao Sports Center Introduction
The Banchu Sports Center was completed in 2001 and is located at the junction of Banqiao and Shulin. The entire area covers 1.72 hectares, and the main venue consists of three major areas: the first floor, the second floor, and the basement. The center features badminton, tennis, and basketball courts, table tennis classrooms, rhythmic gymnastics classrooms, taekwondo classrooms, and martial arts classrooms, along with various specialized sports training programs. Facilities such as meeting rooms, changing rooms, and shower areas are available for students, providing a space for the public to engage in sports and various indoor athletic competitions. The Banchu Sports Center is home to New Taipei City's first fitness room specifically for people with disabilities, featuring wheelchair-accessible hydraulic equipment and several professional coaches. The parking flow outside the venue has also been designed with accessibility in mind, with shuttle bus services provided to enhance the sports experience for individuals with disabilities. There are also specially planned hand-pedal vehicle rental stations and hand-pedal bike lanes, allowing wheelchair users to enjoy outdoor activities, promoting the concept of equal access to sports.
