Yizhang Tomb Park Introduction
Yizhuang Cemetery, originally known as the Refugees' Ancestral Tomb, also called Baijie Yizhuang Cemetery, commonly referred to as Tucheng Cemetery or Damu Gong, is a famous tomb and shrine of the Goddess of Mercy in northern Taiwan. It is said that during the Qing Dynasty, indigenous people in the Tucheng and Banqiao areas would often raid Han people's money and food. The local villagers worshiped Yizhuang Cemetery, which provided them protection and helped repel the indigenous people. As a result, local settlers would rent farmland as offerings, leading to a flourishing of worship and making it a common center of faith for the descendants of Minnan Zhangzhou people in Tucheng, Zhonghe, and Banqiao.
