Ocean Hakka Fishnet Culture Museum Introduction
The Ocean Hakka Qianlu Culture Museum officially opened on June 19, 2020. With over 80% of the population in Xinwu District being Hakka, it is an authentic Hakka village that has preserved many lifestyles distinct from the mountain Hakka villages, developing a unique "farming the sea" culture. Here, "Qianlu" represents the fishing method of teamwork and benefit-sharing practiced by the early Hakka settlers in Taoyuan, showcasing not only the values of traditional fisheries but also the spirit of solidarity among Hakka people. The museum is a three-story building painted in blue and white, featuring installations such as fishing nets and painted floats outdoors. The first floor has an agricultural and fishery experience area as well as a local agricultural product sales area, where you can reserve a tasting of the authentic "Qianlu rice." An ecological aquarium displays various adorable marine life, while the second floor hosts an indoor bar and outdoor relaxation area. The third floor retains a military observation post offering an unbeatable sea view of Qianlu Bay. The museum showcases historical photos of Qianlu, fishing tools, and related precious agricultural and fishery relics, making it a must-see. In addition to enjoying authentic Qianlu-style meals, visitors can gain insights into Hakka maritime traditional culture through exhibits on the imagery of Hakka oceanic life.
