Yong'an Conch Cultural Experience Park Introduction
The park is centered around the Xinwu Yong'an Fishing Port, integrating the marine Hakka industrial axis (National Route 61 and National Route 15), along with surrounding Hakka settlements and temple-related industries. It utilizes the rich marine Hakka culture of Xinwu and Guanyin as a foundation to deepen Hakka cultural roots, strengthen local identity, establish a cultural base, enhance residents' recognition, and pass on Hakka culture, promoting the distinctive marine Hakka characteristics of Taoyuan and driving tourism development. The Conch Cultural Experience Park is located at the Yong'an Seafood Market, which is the only Hakka fishing port in Taiwan. Traditional Hakka fishing methods such as net fishing, conch blowing, and stone pond fishing are prevalent in the area. The main building of the Conch Park, the Conch Hall, draws inspiration from the curve of a conch shell and integrates various environmental aspects, functionality, and structural behavior into the conch-shaped architectural design. The landscape art in the courtyard is inspired by the sounds of Hakka conch blowing, while the adjacent auxiliary building incorporates the Hakka stone pond used for fishing, enhancing the coastal Hakka charm of the overall building. The park collaborates with nearby business districts to promote the agricultural and fishery industries and to propagate marine Hakka culture. The park features a special exhibition room that regularly organizes exhibitions to help the public understand the development of Hakka culture, art, history, etc., thereby generating interest in Hakka culture. Additionally, there is a sales space providing dining and leisure functions for visitors. (Source: Hakka Affairs Council of the Government)
