Yong'an Conch Cultural Experience Park Introduction
This park is centered around the Xinyu Yong'an Fishing Port, integrating the Hakka marine industry axis (National Route 61 and National Route 15) and surrounding Hakka settlements and temple-related industries. It utilizes the deep marine Hakka culture of Xinyu and Guanyin as a foundation to solidify Hakka culture, enhancing local identity, establishing a cultural base, and increasing residents' recognition and transmission of Hakka culture. The aim is to promote the marine Hakka characteristics of Taoyuan and drive tourism development. The Conch Cultural Experience Park is located at the Yong'an Tourist Fish Market, which is the only Hakka fishing port in Taiwan. Traditional Hakka fishing methods in the area include net fishing, conch blowing, and stone weir fishing. Consequently, the main building of the Conch Park, the Conch Pavilion, draws inspiration from the curves of conch shells, integrating various environmental, functional, and structural aspects into the conch-shaped design. The landscape art in the courtyard is inspired by the sound of Hakka conch blowing, while the adjacent auxiliary buildings incorporate the Hakka stone weirs used for fishing, further enhancing the maritime Hakka ambiance of the overall architecture. The park collaborates with surrounding business districts to promote agricultural and fishery industries, fostering and promoting marine Hakka culture. The park includes an exhibition room that regularly organizes exhibitions to help the public understand the development of Hakka culture, art, and history, thus generating interest in Hakka culture. Additionally, there are commercial spaces to provide dining and relaxation functions for visitors. (Source: Hakka Affairs Council of the government)
