Yongan Conch Cultural Experience Park Introduction
This park is centered around the Yong'an Fishing Port in Xinyu, connecting the marine Hakka industry axis (Taiwan Provincial Highway 61 and Taiwan Provincial Highway 15) with surrounding Hakka settlements and temple-related industries. Utilizing the deep-rooted marine Hakka culture of Xinyu and Guanyin, it aims to solidify Hakka culture, strengthen local identity, establish a cultural foundation, enhance residents' recognition, and promote the heritage of Hakka culture to promote the unique marine Hakka characteristics of Taoyuan, thereby driving tourism development. The Conch Cultural Experience Park is located at the Yong'an Tourist Fish Market, which is the only Hakka fishing port in Taiwan. Traditional Hakka fishing methods such as net fishing, conch blowing, and stone pond fishing are practiced here. Therefore, the main building of the Conch Park, the Conch Hall, is inspired by the curvature of a conch shell, integrating various aspects of environment, function, and structural behavior of the conch shape as the design inspiration for the building's appearance. The landscape art in the courtyard draws inspiration from the sound of Hakka conch blowing. Additionally, the ancillary buildings next to the main structure incorporate Hakka stone ponds for fishing, enriching the overall architectural style with a marine Hakka atmosphere. The park collaborates with nearby business districts to promote the agricultural and fishery industries, celebrating and promoting marine Hakka culture. The park features a special exhibition room that regularly plans exhibitions to help the public understand the development of Hakka culture, art, history, etc., and thereby foster interest in Hakka culture. Furthermore, there are sales spaces provided for visitors to enjoy dining and relaxation. (Source: Hakka Affairs Council of the Executive Yuan)
