Pacific Cycles Museum Introduction
Starting from July 13, 2021 (Tuesday), the Pacific Cycles Co., Ltd. in Xincheng District, Taoyuan City, has reopened and now requires online reservations or phone bookings. Known worldwide for its unique products, the Birdy folding bicycle is regarded as the king of foldable bikes and has been popular for nearly twenty years. The IF MODE has won the prestigious German IF Design Award and the Silver Award at the Taiwan Excellence Awards, and is currently being showcased at the National Museum of American Design. The Reach model has garnered numerous competition accolades. The lightweight CarryMe has traveled through dozens of major cities, including New York, London, and Paris. The products from Pacific Cycles are diverse and abundant, featuring tricycles for individuals with cerebral palsy for rehabilitation, three-wheeled bikes suitable for elevator use, sidecars, stair-climbing bicycles, and four-wheeled models for two riders. There is even an armored tricycle donated by the United Nations for the use of individuals in mine-affected areas in Ethiopia. Pacific Cycles provides a research and development platform to assist design elites from various countries in product development and entrepreneurship. Numerous types of folding bikes, tricycles, and mountain bikes available in the market come from Pacific Cycles. The Pacific Bicycle Museum houses over 200 living bicycles, representing a snapshot of contemporary bicycle technology, rather than antiques from a century ago. Each year, thousands of visitors from both domestic and international backgrounds come to visit. To properly preserve these precious historical artifacts and fulfill educational and inspirational roles, the museum was established in 2010 in the original office building as part of the company’s 30th anniversary celebrations, with plans to gradually organize the development history of each product. Established in celebration of its 30th anniversary in 2014, the Pacific Bicycle Museum does not focus on collecting antique bikes but rather showcases a snapshot of current world bicycle technology. In addition to the history of bicycle technology development, the museum features many valuable bicycle collectibles and replicas. The most popular "Experience Area" allows visitors to test ride several of Pacific Cycles' hottest models.
